Mt Cotton is now only 4 weeks away !
Its going to be a great day with some very experienced hill climbers to sit in the passenger seat with you in the morning training session before you have a go at the test & tune in the afternoon. (The test and tune is included in your entry fee, no extra cost!)

We have had a lot of interest in this event, but due to time constraints we will be limiting the number of entries accepted. The minimum age to drive is 14.

To complete your entry and pay online follow this link - http://www.trackattack.com.au/2010/index.php?option=com_dtregister&eventId=33&Itemid=238&task=event_register&type=reg_individual

Thanks Jeff

I'd love to have a crack at this, but I have seen too many catastrophies occur at Mt Cotton with big mumma cars like mine (especially the macadamia nut shell U turn).

I have spectated on at least 10 ocasions with bucketloads of photos.

Tis outside my budget to pay the entry fees and associated stuff to do a day at Mt Cotton though.

Great circuit for small size cars with purpose setup.

It certainly is a funny place,

Big cars do OK though, The first car that I ran there was a HX Monaro, had a lot of fun there in that car, but it was never very fast.

Some of my biggest challengers in the hillclimb series have been a supercharged V6 commodore and a 6.0 ltr commodore.

With only 3 weeks before the Mt Cotton Hillclimb day its time to start getting your entries in.

Once the cut off is reached we will close entries if we cant find suitable additional trainers, so its time to start thinking seriously about entering if you don't want to miss out.

:D

Hmm, they are pretty big cars. I truely do want to have a go at the Mt Cotton Hillclimb as this and Morgan Park are the only two that I haven't had a go at...

I should know within the next week or two if my Auto Box is about to die again and associated big $$ to fix. If all is ok I will come out and do the Training Section and see how I go.

Be prepared I will be slow and steady for a start as I will be on street tyres and daily drive mode...

I know the date is getting close but I need to know about the state of the auto first. This should be a full of fun day as its not a long track to cook things except maybe brakes.

The whole idea of the day is an "Introduction" to Mt Cotton.
so we take the time to do a track walk
we have experienced drivers to ride along as a passenger with you for as many times as you want in the morning.
Taking it slow and working up to a comfortable speed is the best way to do it.

When I used to run my old Monaro there it was on Bob Jane All Rounders
It was never fast through the loops, but I had a blast anyway.
You just have to drive within the grip levels available and make sure that you stay on the black stuff.

You definitely have to take easy, especially through the loops as there is no run off on the loops. The nuts generally don't damage sedans much, I have been in there with the datsun with no damage.

I would be surprised if you have any mechanical issues as its pretty easy on the cars, there are only 2 stops so brakes shouldnt be an issue.

:)

Sounds good Jeff. I am hopeing to have the car booked into the Auto Trans shop for a thorough check next Friday (spoke to them on my concerns today). If the auto is all ok I will certainly come out to Mt Cotton for a run.
