Most people would have heard of Bowdens Own. Weather it be because of their car care products or because of their huge collection of vintage race and road cars.

Every year they have an open day for people who have bought a certain collection of their car care products. Their Museum is not generally open to the general public. However they do hold open days for car clubs etc.

Last year I was approached by them to organise a day for the LS1 forum based on the success of a cruise I had organised for the forum. I have stayed in contact with Dan Bowden and over the chrissie break I had an idea of organising an open day there. I also thought the best way to do it was by making it an event between us, SCC and CC. I guess a good will jesture of patching things up.

Dan is very keen on this idea if I am happy to organise it which I said I would.

What usually happens is the tour goes for a few hours and at the end we put on a barbie. They supply the BBQ and we can just organise the food and drink.

It is a great tour and yes I have seen it but I am only to happy to organise it again.

Let me know your thoughts.

Cost is generally $40 per adult and kids under 16 are free.

Having been there before (with the LS1 group) I would jump at the chance to go back again.

I've been there done that. Was great with some stunning memories, but not something I could be enthused about twice.

The full on sales pitch at the end blew the moment for me. I did buy some Bowdens stuff and still use it but...

Sorry Adam Imsa not a goer on this one.

:)

maybe it's because i didn't listen to any of the sales pitch
was doing the BBQ by then so didn't hear a word of it
although i thought dan talked a bit too much i have herd the history on the cars now , so i think i would spend a bit more time looking at the cars

At this stage no date has been set.

It is a great experience to see all these old wonderful race cars and road cars. For those that have been I can see doing it a second time as a opportunity to catch something you may have missed or concentrate more on the ones you loved.
