;)

Time to look at making the Calais a tad more durable given its frequent floggings. I have recently gone super heavy Double Row Valve Springs to compliment the agressive and high lift ISKY Cam... Then came the Harrop Tru Trac locker type LSD and 3.7 ratio Diff lapping. A Hi Flow Engine Oil Pump is on the cards in the near future; as well as definately needing a replacement sorst.

Whilst I'm still learning how to fully handle and control the increased power gain (300rwkw) combined with a snapper LSD, I'm very happy with the car atm - yeh strange for me I know, but its going "oh so well" in all aspects including round town daily drive (except the spit and cracked sorst is shitting me).

My immediate future next set of mods will be aimed to cool the engine and trans in a far more robust manner than ever before. After a deal of research I have decides PWR are the ones I will put on the Calais through Hi Torque fitup.

Both of these suckers (below) are of JUMBO size and make all else that I have put on previously look quite piddly in Spec comparison.

"Luke" at PWR has been very helpful in my dealings with the company.

:D

ENGINE OIL COOLER

280mm x 257mm x 37mm 10 or 12AN fitting -28row

Its the huge increase in "depth" of the the cooler (37mm) that makes it humungous.

I have already bought one of these and ready to rock and roll!!

:D

TRANS COOLER

280mm x 255mm x 19mm – 30row

My current trans cooler is only an 8 row but does a reasonable job for its size. A 30 row PWR means that it is an additional "22 rows" of cooling and oil volume difference using PWR's biggest available item

Its anticipated that I will get one of these in the coming week - then have HT fit em up - hopefully in time for the T&T trial of the VE on 9th January 2009!!!

"Once installed I will feel very confident and comfortable in doing the Motorsport stuff knowing that I have these PWR cooler items along with Mainlube Lubricants being guardian angel of my entire drive line componentry".

:)

Well as many of you know my Trans cooling "system" including PWR products has yeilded on average 40 degrees temperature reduction in the VE A6 under all conditions. This gives me much more confidence when running the car hard in motorsport; and is also reasuring when just poking aroung the city.

The car goes down to Hi Torque this coming Thursday to finally fit up the biiig PWR "engine oil" cooler I purchased some time ago. I will keep you posted on results.

Cooling and longevity of car componentry is very important to me as it allows me trouble free motoring and less issues from the super-heat generation from motorsport activity - basically it allows me to run "harder" for "longer"..

A hi flow engine oil pump (http://www.racepages.com/parts/oil_pump.html) is really the thing that is important in the future since it will determine the fuel efficiency of the ride for maximum performance.
