Hi all,
Been a tad busy with work and family the last month. However i thought i would give you's an update.
I have taken the turbo's of the clubby for a service and overhaul. Looking at my motor sitting on the work shop floor "Torque n' Tune" out of my car, gave me an idea?????? Why put it back in now it's out!!!
I have been a liitle worried about the bottom end, and blow by. Although it's held together fine it has not been tested and is breathing heavy "a little like me after a walk from the pub".
So i have taken the plung and brought a 414 forged stroker.
the motor comes with-
*LS2 block ? 6.7L there abouts?
*callies forged crank
*callies forged lightned rods
*Wiseco forged -32cc pistons
*H beam 6.125 connectors
*Steel top ring kit "special rings for boosted application"
*Clevite H rod & bearings
all held together with ARP bolts.
The only thing i may alter is the cubic's before the build begins in the new year.
This should now add another dimension to the cars performance and be capable of handling 25psi, if so required. Not to mention the HP and torque it will create.:D
cheers

Good stuff Paul.
The only thing i would advise is go an iron block if your planning on running 20psi plus. The alloy blocks even an LS2 one is tuff but once you go past this boost levels i would feel more comfortable with the iron block.
Just double check it with your engine builder.
Either way its going to be a tuff combo.

That's why i have not completely committed to cubes as yet. Just comforming the LS2 or LQ9 block. However the rotating assembly is solidly set.
In saying so i am ok with the LS2 block as long as the rotating forged assembly does it's job. Apparently piston kiss is the biggest issue with LS2 boosted set ups, not so much the blocks giving way or failing.
I don't know Jim as long as it's build and tuned well i would feel ok, as we know iron or Ali, if it's not build right or a bad tuner it's bye bye's anyway!!!!!
i am a little more concerned with lifting the heads!!!
cheers

Paul yeah i wouldnt worry about lifting the heads to much. Good Arp head studs will do the trick. Normal heads with these are good for 800hp plus at the wheels with a good tune. They tell me you can start to lift heads on a 4 bolt head once you pass 800hp at the wheels but i do know guys that have pushed pass that with no probs.
If you buy a good set of aftermarket heads they have a thicker deck surface which makes them less prone to lifting between the head studs. The 6 bolt heads like i have on my LSx block will take any thing you through at them. A good aftermarket head on a LS2 block i would be comfortable running 750hp at the wheels no probs. Once you pass this you start to play with fire a little.
I think i would go the LS2 block if your not planning on going past 750hp at the wheels. It really then depends on the Turbos and the fuel system to what you want it to make as well. Once you pass 600hp at the wheels the things are pretty much crazy to drive but its still fun turning the wick up.

should be sick mate, that pretty much the same motor as ALLOVR, and even on run in tune with its gt45 it was pushing out over 600rwhp and was a hell of alot of fun to be in.
yours will be one awesome ride mate
