And sitting out side is the new exhaust system.

All to be installed before I make the trip to QLD.. only 12 days to go!

hey Pete, Yeh definitely, its actually got a full system in it now, and it sounds great. all up i think it was close to $3000 ( i don't wanna add the receipts up lol) i first planned on a basic system of around $1500 but i decided to go higher range stuff like carbon fiber speakers - larger amps then i really needed, upgraded some of the wiring kit ect ect.

its now sitting alot lower then when u saw it last aswell as well as the added strut brace ect. im glad its getting there finaly, not alot more to do untill im happy with it and it can stay like it untill im off my P's.

by the way Pete, im in QLD at the moment and would love to catch up, let us know when your available, and im sure we can organise something :)

going good mate, wouldnt mind being up there still though lol. your self?

im Very happy with the pads, there alot better then the Bendix ones i had in there even tough they were just a everyday basic pad. i dont notice if i get brake dust or not off them because i clean my car so much lol but there not noisy or anything, so im happy :) when i put the LSD Disk rear end i will be getting a set for the rear also.

Im starting to plan the next step of the car also...

My goal is a 10sec 1/4 mile on 18" every day street tyres. while staying daily street driveable. also going to do it with the RB30 no twin cam heads, no tubbs, stereo in the boot... basicaly rock up to the track, run a 10, drive home..

that also comes with a full rebuild / paint / intireor ect ect..

at the moment the car is pretty mutch how i want it, ill add the exhaust. put the new diff in and put my walkinshaws on and thats it. ill work out wat way im goin with the car to achieve my goal, motor wont be done until im off my P's but bye then the money will be flowing (if i can get into the Navy) to do what i want.

Nothing wrong with spending money on a VL, they go hard for what they are and respond well to mods.

Running 10's with a VL is easier than a lot of people make it out to be, it will be costly but well worth the end result.

Hey Pete, haha, Gurl in every port, YES... 20 rugrats.. HELL NO!! lol.

Navy was trying to get me in for April. so as soon as im in, and done my training ill be buying a new daily, XR6 Ute probably, (after all i almost ditched the VL for one in september lol)

and as soon as the dollers start rolling, the VL will be off the road and will be totaly stripped bodywork will be done first, followed by paint, retrim, ect ect.. hopeing to have it running 10's in its new look of life by end of 2013... (think thats the yr im off my P's)


Ryan - cheers, apparently 400-500rwhp will get me into 10's which isnt hard with the RB30. the trick bit will be doing it on 18" street tyres. but im gonna giv it a bloody good shot!

was in a pretty shitty mood last night so went for a 5 hr drive!, mostly along the south east coast (vic).. stopped for a couple of photos, also then went for a strap through the twisties and hills and was blown away at the control-ability and feel of the car after it was lowered - added strut brace and new brakes.. was awesome.

yeh shes not too bad on hieght, only scrapes on some a few speed bumps ive gone over, hitting the CAT i think, oh and i cant reverse park into spots with the concrete blocks at the end of them and ive smashed my tow ball a few times when reversing out of driveways lol

The VE's are no longer on it lol, only lasted 1 night coz my mate wanted them back lol.

i found with the VE's the ride was a hell of a lot harder, felt every single bump in the road, im not a huge fan of it, and im sure the girlfriend wouldnt enjoy it,

with the stockies its a very smooth drive even with being as low as it is.

oh i also have 3 sets of wheels lol, i dont need another set haha..

but to be honest, the black stockies with the chrome rings on my mates VH looks fookin tuff lol. but he didnt wanna swap lol

Last Couple nights i have been working on a nose cone to replace the one on the car as its pepperd with stone chips and look shit. im takeing it back to metal on the front face to fix up a few imperfections (small dent ect) and filling the holes in and takeing the badge off..

oh yeah, only updates is that i brought new lights for it, cleaned up a few things, got the stereo tuned and now its extremely loud, should be after how much it cost me.. and supposed to have a 2.5" exhaust but waiting to speek to the guy im getting it off..

might of got my hands on a VL turbo now,

if its what im after with a 28 Spline LSD disk rear end, and has a turbo auto, i will be wrecking it and puttin those bits into mine, then decide if i sell the turbo setup ect ect or keep it, we'll see, hopefully know more later today.

after much pain and not nice words, i managed to get A exhaust on the car, not the one i wanted though..

basic run down.

jacked up car,
managed to get standard exhaust out
couldn't fit 2.5" system in,
dropped diff down further,
got 2.5" system in,
bolted it all back up,
hung exhaust,
distance from extractors to cat was atleast 6" too short (its all one system welded together from cat to tip =[ )
dropped diff again and removed 2.5" system
put in the 2.25" system,
Drilled 2 snapped bolts out of standard cat
drive to bunnings to buy bolts
bolt diff and everything up,
drop car
test drive.
go home drink scotch and coke.

so now i need to cut up the 2.5" system and put flanges on and make it 6" longer to meet up with the extractors

so now the system is Genie extractors - standard screwed cat - 2.25" single muffler - 2.5" tip.

not bad but still want my 2.5" in there.

Finally got a day of good weather, so i decided i would pull the nose cone back out as it was starting to get surface rust on it from cold weather..

finished sanding the front of it back to bare metal, fixed up the holes were the badge usually goes and a couple of dints, sanded back the back section with some pretty corse paper just to take the clear off and now its sitting in primer.

hopefully if its good weather tomorrow aswell ill put the color on.

car is getting painted next weekend.. =) mainly just a freshen up..

main concerns are bonnet/boot/nose cone, and then will give the left hand side a rub down and freshen up aswell and the front guards and blend it into the roof and right hand side as they have already been done.. fix up a few dints and rust that has come back in the front window (been fixed once before)

should look hott =D

shes all back together now mick.. Shes gonna get one hell of a cut and polish and buff this weekend coming. Probably didnt use enough clear but im not too concerned. It should still come up pretty mint.

brad: just the original color. My bonnet. Boot. And nose cone were screwed. And the drivers side was real dull. The roof and passender side has already been resprayed not long ago in the past.

So we fixed up a few dints. Removed the badges. Fixed the rust spot (3-4cm long) in the front window ect and just gave it a freshen up

haha true, damn that day pissed me off so bad, i was in a rush to get to the shops but i had only just picked the car up from my sisters, had the girlfriend with me, and was one of very few weekends i had off during recruit school (NAVY), i was atleast a car length behind a VT, He applied his brakes and as did i and kept the distance then all of a sudden he was full tilt 2 feet on his brakes, as soon as i noticed how quik he was stopping i hit mine harder.. unfortunetly his ABS pulled him up, mine just locked up, and slid, but i had shit quality tyres on the front too, so that didnt help... it came off the road for a couple of months then and sat in the yard untill it was fixed..


Oh yeh, and ive been collecting new badges for it since i got that front emblem one off you lol.. i now have
