i think they are only legal if the car already had sealed headlights/beams

Ben, PM Northy. He has them in his VE and they look the biz. He can tell you everything you need to know about putting them in, type to get etc.

Gadgetmaster seems to be the way to go through a number of different channels I have heard but they are a little pricey.

If they are not fitted as original equipment of that particualr model then I believe they are technically illegal..but so are most of the other mods we do..

I use the Mars 50watt 6000k Performance HID pack off ebay. Its bright, its hasn't played up and is still going 2 years later. I know of another 3 of these kits that are still working no problems also. They use a Phillips bulb and digital ballast (3.2A nom)

About $180 delivered from memory.

Im under the impression that to be HID legal, the car needs to have auto-leveling headlights and a projector or appropriate reflector housing and don't quote me on this, but some sort of headlight washing apparatus.

To wire them in is not hard. the wires/power that goes to your existing bulb is redirected to power the ballast. Or you can run a relay and direct battery power to mitigate the headlight wiring harness voltage drop.

Brad I'm pretty sure that is what Northy told me. Auto levelling Headlights. At least in the VE anyway. Dont know about other models.

Might look into these ones that you mention though. That's a pretty good price.

Umm, what models of VE have auto levelling headlights. I'm pretty sure mine doesn't.

That's what I'm saying Pete. The VE doesn't have Auto levelling headlights therefore they are technically illegal in a VE
