hey :) jus wondering to all those ls1 guys out there.. is an aftermarket ecu worth its weight in gold? or am i better of with jus a tune?
if ecu is worth it wats the best brand? and should i get the engine tuned after the ecu is installed?

i can only pass on what i was told. personally i would have no idea. aftermarket ecu is good for the vn style motor. they don't bother with the ls1 and later motors. there is also the question of their legality.

It depends on what mtr u are really going with....
Big Jim is going to run a stock ECU in his car and its going to be 800 plus rwhp, im using a stock computer also hoping for 450 rwhp
So there is no need for a after market ecu with an LSx mtr car a stcok one will do

true, my reply above is based on a V6 or 5L, didn't see the LS1 bit.
In which case yeah stock ECU is fine as it can be tuned without needing memcals etc
