;)

Just some early feedback Kent. :D

Despite being a long day for me today to hang loose cause of my work constraints and specifically having to have things done in one day, I am very happy with the result.

Price was right; and desired power/rpm outcome was achieved thanks to Ash. I will probably be back again in about two weeks for the fitup of the Harrop Mechanical LSD, High Flow Engine Oil Pump and associated Engine Oil Cooler with dedicated Thermo Fan attached.

Ash and I need to converse to get that extra 6-10 rwkw I want (we all know that and a tad more is for the taking with a tweak or two), but hells bells the real world outcome was very good within the very little opportunity I had to test the Luxo on the way home today. On reviewing the dyno chart its quite aparent that Isky Cam you recomended holds power in an almost linear fashion for a long time in the high rev range of 6,000 right up to 7,000rpm which is quite astounding. The around town manners and idle hooking to an auto with stock stallie is very good. Still runs very low 10 litres per 100 on the highway and up to today was often in the mid 9 litre mark (time and further testing will reaveal the average with the new additions)...

Once the Harrop Tru Track LSD is fitted I will be busting to try it on the strip in Daily Driver trim, even with the power sapping high teps and humidity atmospheric conditions ocuring atm.

Using Engineering mode on the way home revealed that the A6 Sump Temperature is almost constantly 20 degrees cooler than the actual Coolant temp of the engine regardless of rise or fall due to surrounding variables. 75 versus 95 is an average; and rises and falls almost equally in various conditions.... The Auto Trans Fluid does rise quicker than Engine Coolant temp, but both seem to level out an equivalent to the abovementioned.

Additionally, I was expecting the upgrade to heavyweight PAC Double Row valve springs rated to .660 lift to be a tad noisier, but early indicators are that this is not the case.

As always, I am only reporting my own experiences, thoughts, and outcomes relating to a VE Luxo and L98 engine. Bottom line is that people will need to make their own judgement based on what is right for them.

Thanks once again Kent and Ash.

:)

Round figures 300rwkw or 400 odd hp at the rears - everyone knows there a plethora of variables and no-one can lay claim to a set figure of the power of their car.

Once the LSD is sorted I will be interested in what it will do across the 400 metres. ATM its a single spinner so would not reflect potential.

Glad we could help there pete, I think that cam you are running is a great allround camshaft, nice idle, nice manners and good feel through out the rev range(would love to see that cam on NOS). Good to see we fixed the early rev limit.
