i have worked with all of meguiars stuff for a long time... and know the products like the back of my hand lol...
all depends how deep the scratches are... if they are only light scratches i would recomend firstly washing the car with one of meguiars washes ie. nxt gen carwash or soft wash gel (ohh love the smell!!!!).. most if not all of meguiars washing liquids are ph ballanced (as far as i know).. then i would use meguiars scratchx.. which should get rid of all the light scratches.. then finnish off with one of meguiars awesome waxes like ntx gen tech wax or if u have more time on your hand go the two step way deep crystal polish and then follow with deep crystal wax... if that has not got rid of the scratches then you might need to try meguiars color x it too can help get out light scratches... if all that fails u might need to take it to a professional for help...
or if u are handy on the orbital... u can try meguiars fine cut cleaner.. i think there is a medium cut cleaner too.. but only if u know what u are doing.. u could turn i simple fix scratch into needing a whole new paint job.. and trust me ive seen it first hand!!
hope that helps...

NXT Gen paste is what I use for polishing and it is an awesome product. Like Ryan, most of the products on my shelf at home are meguiars. I use the Nxt Gen wash as well. The paste is an easy to use product> Pricey but the results speak for themselves.

Might have to try that scratchx though. Will it remove swirl marks. I find the paste covers them up but after a few washes they are back.

yeah i find it works on swirl marks!.. my last car was a black sr5 hilux and it got rid of the swirl marks on it... if it does not work try the color x... dont use an orbital or buffer for both of them.. use a foam applicator.. also look at what is making the swirl marks in the first place... you might find you are using the wrong pad for the job you want to do... just a thought..

you wont get scraches out by hand if it is a good paint job you need a process with a orbital buff not a random orbital and someone who knows how to use it or you will end up with swirl marks i worked alot with Rick Stock from meguiars when i was at mercedes

PLEASE DONT use those coloured polishes if you have a clear coat on your car cause the surface you are putting it on is clear not the colour you see like my car is red but it has a clear coat finish

color x is not a coloured polish... meguiars color x is safe to use on cars with clear coats...
