fark 812kw daily driver ST1

I love this part

Say hello to the Zenvo ST1 (the "S" stands for Supercharger, "T" for Turbo and "1" for model number one), a Corvette Z06-derived projectile that was designed to be a track-worthy car that can also be used everyday.

SWEET....

Personally, I think it 'looks' nicer than a Veyron. I'm not a massive fan of its beetle look. This looks more like a supercar

Just my 2c

doesnt look half bad, but i would have a Veyron over that any day of the week.

that's impressive, but it's only a peak hp figure, which doesn't mean a lot on it's own. To be a fair comparison with the Veyron, they need to compare it properly with engine dyno sheets.

onroad the Veyron is a considerably quicker car, yet apparently 100 less hp.... A flater/wide power curve will result in a quicker car than a higher peaky power power curve

Veyron
top speed: 407.9 kph (as tested by Top Gear)
0-100kph: 2.5 seconds

Zenvo ST1
top speed: 375kph
0-100kph: 3 seconds

Yes Darren but do not forget the Veyron
is powered by 2x twin turboed V8's and reached 407kmh but the Zenvo is only powered by 1 supercharged and turboed v8 and has made 375kmh with better fuel economy and can run both 98high octane and standard unleaded looks better and is more than likely cheaper. Don't get me wrong the bugatti is sex on wheels but this one will give it some real competiton. I would be a hard choice if I had the money. But looking at the Zenvo enconomy wise would be the cheaper more economical choice hmmm the possibilites LOL.

Mick the Bugatti is powered by a single W16 - it's not 2 V8's. That's kind of like saying a V8 is 2 x 4 cylinder engines. I haven't seen where they have made any fuel economy comparisons, but on full throttle both would chop through fuel like an F-111 on afterburner & honestly if you bought a car like those, would fuel economy be a factor ? ;) As for the methods of forced induction used, more turbos or superchargers don't necessarily equate to more power. They are still limited by fuel flash point and engine reliability as to how much boost they can force into the engine. Multiple smaller turbos are usually used to reduce turbo lag, which I suspect is the case with the Bugatti. The ST1 obviously utilises a supercharger to overcome the lag of a much larger single turbo. Simply different methods of achieving the same task.

the article says the ST1 can run E85 or 98RON - not standard 91 RON unleaded. E85 (where available) is at least as expensive if not more than 98.

The ST1 is undeniably a supercar worthy of it's place. But to make a power comparison to the Bugatti using a peak hp figure doesn't offer any insight into the actual overall performance of the engine as seen by the considerable difference in onroad performance between the 2 cars. The Bugatti is still the faster car, by quite a margin in fact. Peak hp figures as we know are all about boasting rights - they don't mean a lot. Engine dyno sheet showing the power curve and onroad performance are the real world indication of which is the more powerful engine & car.

The ultimate test is to see the 2 cars compete against each other on the track!
