Hey guys.
Ive moved into my brothers place, and they have given me my nephews computer to use instead of mine, as his is alot better then mine.
However, im having issues with it.
Im on a wireless set up, and the net is running fine, but when ever i try to download anything, including watching videos on youtube, the download starts and stops at about the 400KB mark. and the same thing happens with youtube. i can watch 12 seconds of video then it doesnt load any more....
ive check the firewall, etc, cleared cookies and files out. And now i cant sign into msn with out downloading the new update, which i cant do as i cant download. lol. So any suggestions ??

signal strength and connection strenght are excellent.
Have tried to hook a it up wired to my brothers computer but couldnt get it to work, i think my wire is broken....
My computer is only about 5 meters away from my brothers, and only 1 door seperates them.

It depends on the network setup - what version windows you are running and what is running in the background.

There are some adware and spyware items that will restrict the amount of data transfer.

It also depends on the Internet connection onthe other side of the router.

Check the number MAC address's attached to the router.....Is it just your computer slow or Both?

Have you run your AV?

And have you tried plugging stright into the modem and bypassing the router?

If I have read correctly you are connecting to the internet via another computer? IE - Wirless from your PC to another that is pluged directly into the modem?

If the above is correct there is your issued. figureitvly speaking if you are useing an AD-Hoc Wireless connection that will be the issued (ports may be blocked). And AD-Hoc connections can produce slow speed.

If you like I can swing up there on Sat after somthiong I have to do first and fis it all up for you.
