Hi guys, thinking of changing my plates. Anyone seen the "checker plate" designed plates around much? Any thoughts on what you think they look like??

Seen two sets so far I like them. Had to look twice first time it looked like real checker plate.

hey mark, i thought they were more for the 4WD? Have never seen them on a car. maybe someone on here has some and you could put them on to see how they look? Personalised plates are good but. Look heaps better than the standard plates. I cant stand QLD standard plates!!!!!!!

dont Mark. I like straight colour with letters. Looks more stylish IMO. Checker plate is too much for the Monaro....

Was kinda thinking the same but the missus didn't mind them...The problem is that with the straight colours the combinations are like what I have..SJC*90..
With the "novelty" style plates the combinations seem to print like SJC90 with out the * between the letters and numbers..the other alternative plate is a V8 supercar themed plate, not sure about them either..

I agree with Adam!!!

However it is always upto the individual taste, and what they are after!!!

Never know you could become a trend setter????

without going off thread topic too much, the problem I have is that the VE SSV already has three digital gauges at the centre of the dash. If they were not there then I would do them for sure. But because I have them I need to do other gauges and because I dont have a turbo and I dont particularly want to do imperial, my choice is limited. Autometer used to make an air intake temp gauge but I cant seem to find it anymore. Reckless seem to have it but it's the most expensive gauge I have seen. $300+

I think I will start a thread based purely for ideas on this.

Now back on topic...

Mark, is price stopping you from getting what you want? Because if I read what you said right, you dont want the dash in the middle? My plate is a solid colour and I can order them with or without the dash.

That's what I thought Brett. Mine is solid with the dash but I thought I could order them without it....

I dont mind the V8 ones either

In Victoria you can actually get HSV ones. I wouldn't get them because I dont drive a HSV but I would if I did

Oh ok, I didn't realise you could order them that way Brett..Too late now, couldn't make up my mind which plates i wanted so I spent the money on some new brakes...lol...plates can wait now...

haha I guess you should have new brakes to stop cause those new plates will make the Monaro fast!!!!!
