Kent also told me that he would be able to line up some High HP cars to put on the dyno as a Demo. Cars like the GTEX ute, which makes over 1000 RWHP (Which i spacifically asked for) should be on show

Yes, I will be there for sure. I better if I am running some cars for a quick blat up the mountain. The mountain run is not a defiinite. Only if we get enough interested.
I will work on that closer. We may leave a tad earlier than everyone else just so we can sort of all arrive together.
Put me down too Ben, mine hasn't had a run for that long I can't even remember whats it's numbers are...

ill be a maybe for now Ben mate..:)
hoping i have some more work done to the VR first, [i.e. twin system, auto service, tuned.:p]
will be a good day, i wont go the mountain way, so ill head straight highway, gives me a chance to open it up a bit before the roller runs..:)

I'd really like to make it to this one, I will put it down on the calendar.
I will most likely just meet everyone at the BP Yatala, as it's a 2 hour cruise from Toowoomba to that location on it's own :p
definitely keen for it. And a good way for us to meet our newest sponsor

will be there for sure
One other thing i forgot to mention guy's. Club members do get prioritory on the spots, then validated members then forum members on the dyno. But kent said they did 30 cars for a supra dyno day a month ago no dramas. so if we keep 30 or so cars in mind we will be fine.
The sooner you pre pay the sooner you lock your spot in.

LOL
Give it to Jim or Chris now, no way am i chasing 1000HP just yet??;););)
All yours Jim.
I will be chasing 9's before i go chasing roller number.
I will not have the new block done by January, unless this one goes before December, then i will be forced to act quicker.
Thanks for putting me Ben, who needs a PR manager with Benny around??:p
However the turbo will be serviced, car will be tuned properly, and the alky kit on, so a nice upgrade in boost by then should be doable. Then be happy with 550RWKW odd.
However at the end of the day it rolls what it rolls, ain't no DYNO QUEEN.
Just give me 400 metres at a time.
cheers

I'm no power making guru (and never will be), but rekken the hot weather of January wouldn't be condusive to making big numbers on the dyno, but everyone will be running in the same climatic conditions so it should be a leveller. :)
I'm really looking forward to it, and hopefully I have my car sorted by then - not power gain based, just longevity insurance things added for the motorsport activities that I love so much!!!
:)
The Hi Torque Team are a very nice bunch of people who play with and are very experienced at the big end of Dyno Number and Neck Snapper cars. I am extremely happy with the expert advice, services and build of my engine, tune, motorsport twisters handling mods, and drive train stuff that they have provided/undertaken for me to date. ;)
Hence why the "one and only" advertising sticker I have on my car and engine bay atm is that of "Hi Torque" as I only wear on my car what I truely believe in (this speaks for itself).

I'll pay you in cash Ben ($40 for Club members is pretty damned cheap compared to others I have been at). The date is a fair way off so I'm sure I will see you out and and about at an event or 10 between now and then.
I have no idea what numbers it may pull on the day, but the Luxo is no humungo power maker thats for sure, but thats to be expected from a Normal Aspirated Car compared with the Forced Induction ones that are so popular and common these days.

I'll hand over some cash for my spot at the Xmas party Ben..

Yeh Mick but credit where credit is due. Dave's car is the extreme I was hoping to do for the Luxo but busted too many parts along the way. It's the one car across the many forums I am on that I would love to own over and above my own. He has actually achieved the goal, I haven't.
A fantastic balance of driveability, pose and power. Well done young man.
Its a very special piece of kit that is exceptionally well sorted in oh so many ways (and thats a big ask to get right). Has my vote every time, and is normal aspirated to boot. Reality is that a simple 10 -15K will get you 400-500 forced induction power, but that's not my scene at all; as a balanced "all round" car is way more than simply achieving mega rwkw in isolation!!!

It is a shame you have not reached your goal due to the hicups and bad luck you have had with yours along the way. But hey I am sure you will get there. Dave has certainly ticked every box so far with the SSV that is for sure.:)
i have to go Boosted to catch u LS2 guys.....

hoping to get my car on the rollers for this one. Curious to see what sort of numbers it makes on another dyno, as Paramount said their dyno tends to read a bit on the low side.
As soon as I get my work roster for that week to confirm I'm not working that weekend, I will pay for my spot

There probably would be a formula you could use to even it up a bit Adam, I'm going to give my car a run just for the hell of it, but your right, I've got buckleys chance of winning anything, not that thats why I'm entering anyway, but I guess it would make it more interesting the way your suggesting..
we might make a 6 cyl and a 8 cyl dial in hp class as well

dail in's would be the only one where 6 cyls get the same advantage as 8 cyls... but than those who have dyno'd their cars before or constantly have an advantage over those who haven't
if you went HP per Cyl.... 6cyl will need 150hp to match a 8cyl 200hp (25hp per cyl)
if you went HP per Ltr...... a 3.8l would need 190hp to a 304ci's 250hp or ls1's 285hp (50hp per ltr)
unless a 6 is forced fed they come in un-advantaged in any combination

Maybe it will be just you and me. However I do know a number of people were interested in a pre-run

Seems it remains in the ether atm. I'm happy to do the cruise and know its one of SEQ finest scenic routes (and if you stop off at Springbrook Falls they will be "raging" and at their "finest" for a photo or two) but if there are no takers per se then it maybe not worth the effort. Regardless, we can still all arrive at almost the same time; 5PM isn't it, that's not hard to do no matter what early in the day holds... I wouldn't be doing the group M1 highway drive though as I have too many things on as it is.
I was thinking today whilst I was out fishin with EVO Barry on the Tweed River that I could even do my previously booked Skidpan Session (head off from Lakeside at around 3pm) and still arrive at Hi Torque on time. Fishing, Cruise or Skidpan as Pre-Dyno Event activity, Decisions, Decisions??? I'll be there by 5pm ready to roll in any case. Tis gunna be a lonng but full day for me and the car. :)
Mate if you want to do the pre-cruise I will be there. The matter is in your hands - I'm happy either way.

I've got to go to a party at Ipswich earlier in the day, so I'll get to Hi Torque probably around 5ish.
So if I enter my car for the day, will it matter if I get there after a bit later than 5 ?
I'll pre-pay my spot now that I know what my plans are for the day, just want to make sure all is good, if I end up being a little late.

we need to push this. Big time.
Just under three weeks and 4 cars paid (yes I know I haven't)
Come on team lets make it huge. I know we have a number of cars we can get to but if we dont get there then I am opening the invitation to others. Obviously we would prefer to get the club members up first.
Ben, I am still of the opinion that there should be a 'dial-in' category so that everybody (and I mean everybody) has a chance of winning a prize. We dont want the same winners winning everything all the time (no offence Dave). This kind of category gives people another reason to want to attend.
i agree about dial in option.

before your dyno run, you guess what hp you will pull. Closest to there guess at the end of the day wins that award.
we need to push this.
Was thinking the same Adam, I'm feeling lonely on that paid list, hope it gets bigger before the day..."dial in category" sounds interesting..Come on guys lets get some numbers going on this...$40 for three runs, thats cheap!!!!
im definatly going on. Just havnt paid yet.
Im now advertising on other forums to get more number and people spectating. Bring eveyone you can along, its going to be a ripper of a day.

Yeo, it just concerns me that the list has 4. It's all well and good getting other people interested and coming but if we only have 4 members paying - what's the point.

If my car is entered, and I arrive at Hi Torque at around 5pm or even a little later, is this going to be a problem ? (I have a party to go to at Ipswich earlier in the day)
I am happy to commit to the dyno day & pre-pay, but just need comfirmation that a bit of a later arrival won't be a problem for participants ?
that fine darren. Doesnt start till 5.

payment made, might be a day or 2 before it comes through
no worries darren.....
have had alot of interest on other forums, so should be a top day.
I was hoping to have a cam in the calais for the event, but i started a new job, and my first pay didnt go through, so have had to use the money for the cam for bills. I will get a double pay next week, but will wont have to time to order it, and fit it before the dyno day. Oh well, such is life. Im still going, and throwing the calais on, will be nice to know what it pulls in a near stock form before the cam and turbo goes on.

Come on guys, you need to fill me with confidence.
What is happening next weekend?
I hear all these things about people getting other people interested on other forums etc but at present we have a representation (based on the front post) of four people from our club and it is our dyno day.
Is it because people dont have bank details to deposit funds and prepay

I couldn't resist. I've now confirmed my attendance to run the car at the Lakeside Skidpan on this day. Runs from 9am - 4pm.
:)
Still attending and running the car on the rollers at the Dyno Event as well (thankfully it's an evening one). I will head from lakeside down the gold coast to Hi Torque directly after skidpan. I should be at HT pretty close to start time of 5pm.
Poor ol VE Calais getting a hammering and workout all day by the looks of it. :o
Will be great when I get the two mega trans and engine coolers in as it will be able to do all day runs with no worries whatsoever. I will probably get a lower temp thermostat and via the custom tune set the fans to kick in at around 80 degrees celcius = air conditioning for the drive train when compared to stock, so to speak.

It has been great to have random bits of info on the progress of the evening.
I am sorry I couldnt get there but Family comes first. Some really impressive figures thrown down tonight from what i have been told and soulds like it was a good night.
Thank you to Kent and his team for without them we count have had this event. And thank you to the rest of the admin team for picking up for where i was not availible.
And a big thank you to our members and visitors as without your support this would have been somewhat fruitless.
And Pete, although your power figures where down is it possible the Dyno was serviced recently after your last run which may account for a varied figure....your car has a good power output and for you to have lost 30rwkw after the full day you had as well as the the ambiant factors is reasonable...So keep you head high, I would say that if the Dyno hasnt been serviced and hasnt changed at all then it would have been due to ambiance and puting the car through its paces at Lakeside as well. :) you have much to be proud of.
Congrats to all the winners and i look forward to the seeling the list of winning cars.
Well done to all for putting together a great night, I had a good time and there were some big number cars on show too, mine not being one of them..hehe..Oh well, time for a run on the 1/4 now...
Cheers

What an excellent result. Great turn out, great cars and just all round great fun.
Was really great to see the HT boys wandering around have a chat and it appeared everyone was having a good time.
A first night dyno night for both parties has been a great success
To all those I met for the first time last night, we hope to see you around some more at events and on the forum.

I had a really enjoyable evening guys, what better way to spend a Saturday night then petrol fumes and listening to a bunch of tough Commodores on full song!
And it was nice to catch up with some of the old faces, got to meet Pete (Equipe T) for the first time, despite us knowing each other on the forum for years! And good to catch up with Andrew (Newsky), Brad & Ben, and course always a pleasure to catch up with Pete (Calaiscruiser). Apologies to anyone else that I talked to last night and has slipped my mind right now.
Thanks to everyone from BCCC who made it the success it was, and of course to our new sponsors Torque Power who opened up their very professional facility for the night. Workshop is clean as, and the cars that coming out of there are a credit indeed. I had a brief chat to Jeff on the night who was a great guy.
bloody hell, the performance benchmark was certainly raised a lot higher this time compared to the last dyno day I went to in Virginia a few years back! I was somewhat outclassed in the hp stakes! The only 5L on the night - no chance of matching it with any of those bigger, badder LS engines ;) Lucky there were some V6's there for me to compete with lol :o
But very happy with the results, I got 273hp at Paramounts dyno in Toowoomba, and 275.5hp out TP's dyno last night, and Jeff was saying all 3 runs yielded a consistant result, so it's good to see some consistant results between dynos. And for the first time I got to hear the old girl on full noise from the outside - loved it :D
Thanks also for the dial in prize! I nominated 275hp and the car made 275.5hp :)
Great prize pack, thanks to Carbon/Adam for putting it together and to Pete (Equipe T) for organising the awesome looking trophy
Spoke to a least 3 people last night who were keen to find out more info about the club, which is a good thing. Hope you guys & girls decide to come along to some of our events and meet the rest of us soon. I'm sure you'll find the club to your liking. It's a great start to the year for the club. This is what the club is all about guys and gals, getting out to events like this and enjoying each others company & cars.
i cant give enough praise to Kent and the guys from Hi torque... Very professional set up, and the night went smoothly with no hickup's at all.... I would also like to thank my fellow bccc admin team, who all played key rolls for the night. Couldnt be happier guys.
I was going to put the calais on the dyno, but i have a broken engine mount, and i decided not to run... Some very impressive cars out as well.
Next dyno event will be around june/july some time, i also spoke to kent about using his workshop as a venue for a photoshoot, as the lighting and the backdrop in the shed would make for some top pics. so keep your eye on the forum for that.
Summing up, although some people got a little bit lower numbers then they wanted, i think the night was 10/10. couldnt have asked for a better saturday night guys.
