Hi all,
Due to the ongoing pressure from Adam "carbon" and Bens constant nagging i have brought some brand new VE GTS 20" wheels and tyres. I will have them shipped from Sydney and be in Brisbane on Wednesday.
I will have some shots of the car hopefully posted on Wednesday night.
hehehehe.
Wise choice Boss man :)

Should be good mate. I reckon they look great.
Paint them black, they would look tuff as on red car
Ive got a set for my GTO sitting here. Iam powdercoating them black next week. Ive got 8inch wide for front and 9.5 inch wide rears.
Allows me to fit a 285 wide tyre on the rear as the offset on the GTS wheels is great for a huge tyre.
Mine should look like this on my GTO when done except the brakes on this one are way to small, lucky i have huge AP race brakes on mine
Definately powdercoat them black when you get them

nice, nice.
Yes, I love my rims and especially black. Paul, my only opinion. I was told to get two-pac because if they chip only that bit chips and that's it. If they are powdercaoted they can be prone to flaking a lot more when a chip starts.
I can put you onto the guy that did mine if intersted

Thanks Adam, yes they look nice, you where the reason why i went this way. The wheel guy stated the same thing to me go 2-pak. He state to paint them black was $350 on top.
(if anyone can paint and help me out let me know)
:D
Jim how nice mate, and yes the 9.5" 275 would be great, unfortunetly the clubsport just won't allow them under, so 8" 245 will have to do.;);)
Big thanks to Brad for the lend of the 17", Ben i seen you snuck in 1 photo, DELETE IT!!!!!!
Smick SS $2,200 without paint.
thanks guys i hope this is a wiser choice then the chrome
20" ??????????????
:D:D:D
cheers

you know my opinion about chrome.......:p
My mate who is a panel beater did them for $300 but he is down here Southside. Let me know if you want the details
Is that genuine or non genuine. Good price if genuine. Mine were about $1850 non genuine for 5 as I wanted a fullsize spare. That said I did only get the 8"'s all round. The paint cost was for 4

With regards to getting them coated black or what ever colour you want, i myself would never get a set of my wheels 2 pac again. Ive had many sets of wheels 2 pac and also powdercoated and the powdercoating lasts and wears 10 times better than a spray painted wheel. All my track wheels are powdercoated and never have issues with them.
Also the cost isnt bad either, 4 wheels sandblasted bare plus powdercoating $200. The place that does mine and a couple of mates wheels in powdercoat does a great job.

Jim
How do you find the appearance of them. I was led to believe that black powdercoated wheels could appear dull.
The other reason I went this way was that if you did indeed get chip it was easier to repair the paint. I have a couple now from the wonderful roads of Brisbane but my painter has said we can fix them no worries.
Paul, ultimately it is your decision. As is generally the case on this (and other) forums is that everybody has a good and bad opinion about a particular method. This same debate has raged on LS1 before with heaps of guys agreeing with what Jim has said and others with what I have said. I guess it may also come down to who does the job...etc etc
G'day Paul. I popped into Munch Inn last night just for a bit, took my son along to show him the cars, his eyes were popping out of his head..lol..anyway I did see you just as I was leaving, maybe catch up next time, but I did see your car there and the wheels look awesome, far better than the blingy ones you had on before, looks tougher now if that's possible..
Cheers
