Ok, my new cats and extractors go on tomorrow. A mate who I wont see for a few weeks wanted to hear the difference between the two.
So after washing the car this afternoon, I setup the video and revved the engine. Watch the video and see why I am a little concerned.

The question I ask is why is it doing that? Should I be concerned. The only things that have happened recently are:
1. sump gasket replaced
2. rear main seal replaced.
3. Liqui moly tappet stop added to oil
I also noticed what sounded like a ball bearing rattling around
Any ideas?

"This video is private"
you will have to change the video's preferences in youtube.

Sounded reasonably normal with the exeption of the dog in your zorst... :P
I would be more concerned at the amount of stuff that came out of the pipes when you started it...I cant smell if it was steam or smoke....
It does sound like a baffle or 2 are loose.

The amount of smoke that came out was more what I was worried about. It was quite rich in fume smell
I'll get them to check over the exhaust when they install the cats and extractors

I got a video clip of my vxv6 doing the exact same thing, just a bit less though.. I put it down to the engine being not at operating temp, and the fact I just washed it.
bait that dog lol

look like a bit of un-burnt fuel to me...
cold engine? giving it a rev.....
if the engine was warm and doing it... or if it was doing that at idle i would be concerned

Keep an eye on it.... if it happens more often it might be wise to get it looked at... in the mean time i would say its a one off......

yeah it's not something you would want to happen on every cold start.
Is it a factory tune ?
If it continues, I would get the tune checked, cold start settings might need a tweak

thanks Darren
Once the extractors and cats are done, it's back to Powertorque to get the tune tweaked so will tell him
