what fuel do you use?
Where do you normally get it from?

I use normal unleaded, usually from BP

if i have spare coin i splash out and get some 95 or 98 from time to time

I usually get Caltex 95 or 98.
mainly because there's a Caltex down the road from me, and I haven't a bad tank yet. I don't know how it compares to the others, but the engine runs well on it.

Caltex 95 my car seems to like it runs better than Shell or Mobile. Haven`t tried BP.

my cars are all tuned to run on 98. even for those that are not should use it . more power more economy

Usually BP ultimate for me, if not that then Caltex vortex is my next choice..

The VS runs like a bag on 98....so either reg unleaded or E10. (E10 I get a significant economy increase.....Go figure).

Ive only every used caltex 95 and mobil 6000 (the middle premium) as older model cars shouldn't use the highest octane, can be damaging to the motor someone told me.

since i mainly run on gas, i use mainly bp or caltex, but i use bp 95 when im on fuel, i would use 98 but where i go, they only have 95 next to the gas pump.

Ethanol fuels are worse for your vehicle than what 98 octane is. Not only does ethanol have a slightly higher octane than 98, it is somewhat corrosive in nature to engines that haven't been designed specifically to run on it... otherwise Im sure they would have had a 50+% ethanol mix by now!
My car hates it, I know that lol.

98 octane is fuel that has been further refined than 92/5 octane, meaning it's purer fuel as it's more efficient per unit and cleaner through the engine and out the exhaust which means less emissions.

my engine runs fine on E10, but loses at least 40kms to a tank.
False economy for me - premium works out cheaper when it comes to kms per litre & has better performance

my bike however hates E10 - won't idle

Ethanol is cheaper and has a higher octane, but, it's not as efficient per unit as 98 octane fuel and the effect of this is you burn slightly more ethanol in comparrison with the higher priced 98 octane. It's not just you lol.

I use 98 and since i live next door to a caltex I use that, have not tried anything else in my car..... I just pay what ever I have to pay and since i get roughly around 250kms from a tank I just have to put up with it :)

In SA they already have Shell pumps that sell E85.....Holden have been testing and are in the process of getting the E85 engine into mass market...however some fuel companies are not ready to put E85 pumps everywhere yet.

I used to use BP exclusively but now I have been using Shell because there is a shell on my daily route to work.

I understand there used to be an issue with the Shell 98 but it has since been rectified and is on par with the BP product

Corey, yours has nothing to do with the foot attached to the go fast pedal does it...

i run whatever the peice-o-shit wants to run on, one week might be E10, next week might be shell prem, its a picky lil bitch lol ( like you could run 1 tank of E10 through it and it'll be lovely, run another tank of E10 through it straight after the first and it'll run like a dog, pingin up hills and under load, under powered, pisses me off lol )

I alway use BP ultimate due to the chemical additives, not just the 98 ron.

If not avaliable i always am comfortable with the caltex 98.

My car tuned on these and really responds.

V-power i have used several times as it is the close to my home. However twice on the dyno the car rattled and pinged. Torque n tune recommended change where i fill up. Hence sometimes its not the fuel, just dirty leaking storage tanks? not to mention the odd rumor fuel company's may accidentally put lower unleadeds in the wrong storage tanks??????
OOOOppppssss.

The future does lay with E85, which you can buy now in Brisbane. I believe it is rated at about 105 ron.

cheers
Paul
