Brisbane Commodore Car Club Seafood Christmas Party 2009 - PLEASE READ

Guys, its getting to that time of year. CHRISTMAS TIME !!!!!
What we have in mind is a Christmas In The Park.
This is not the official thread for the party, more just a thread to get
numbers, and inform you guys as to what we have in mind.

Date is 6th Of december.
Venue: NorthShore River Side Park
Macarthur Ave, Hamilton

Time: 10 am


What we are offering is a Massive seafood platter.
Which will consist of pretty much any seafood you can imagine.
As well as that we will also be serving drinks, Cold meats and salads.

What we propose is roughly $25 Per head, but this will cover every thing on the day. For a family of 4 (2 Adults and 2 Kids) we can do a deal of say $60
(These prices could get cheaper depending on numbers)

This day will also be the Brisbane Commodore Car Club Awards Day.
Which will recognise all the outstanding efforts and achievements of BCCC members through out the year. The two big awards will be

MEMBER OF THE YEAR
CAR OF THE YEAR


As well as those two awards we will also be handing out the following awards for 2009


VB - VH OF THE CLUB 2009
VK - VL OF THE CLUB 2009
VN - VP OF THE CLUB 2009
VR - VS OF THE CLUB 2009
VT - VX OF THE CLUB 2009
VY - VE OF THE CLUB 2009
MOST ACTIVE CRUISER
BEST REPRESENTATION OF THE CLUB
NEW MEMEBER OF THE CLUB (joined since june 09)


We will also be having a peoples choice award on the day.

So to sum it up, for roughly $15 per head, that is what you will recieve on the day.
The venue is to be at a park that is fairly central (somewhere around the gateway bridge) but we will finalise that very soon.

This event is open to ALL Club, Validated and Forum member's.

hahaha I wouldn't even feed them to other fish... I had a mate who lived next to the river... we caught a few bream that we didn't want to touch! they were sort of bleeding with red marks like diseases.

The Brissy river may be slightly discoloured and muddy but water quality is quite good. I have often seen dolphins as far up as the Gateway Bridge and these suckes don't hang in dirty water. Ulcerated Bream generally comes as a result of a long run of fresh water/rainfall, not disease as such. I have caught some huge bream from the river and happy as larry to eat em.

Anyone who eats mid-size prawns are actually consuming Brissy River prawns - Many of the comercial for sale Mud Crabs also come from the river - food for thought.

All good, the lads looked after me exceptionally well and in a true professional and friendly manner where customer satisfaction is obviously a high priority of their work ethos - can't ask for more than that...

I invited Kent and HT along as sponsor of BCCCC. He said he would be there and bring a couple of the Hi Torque "power machines" along as well. ;)

Could be interesting!!!! and is a very nice supportive gesture from Hi Torque given their hectic schedule and national profile. :D I am quite proud and excited by this eventuation.

The sun has oh so much bite in it nowdays, and seafood needs to be savoured in the cool - hopefully a nice seabreeze will eventuate.

Hope the B.B.Q has plenty of heat in it, not one of them Slow Broil buggers that are common in parks and stuff. If no heat, its a waste of time trying to cook the squid.

Should be fun and will be fabulous to meet up with old acquaintainces, friends, foes, sponsors and others... All good!!! :)

I'm bringing some very basic fishin gear (just lure fishin, don't expect to catch anything) as I will probably chill out somewhere along the way. I do love my Fishin and equally Golf and Snorkelling.

In a nutshell absolutely wonderful. I really did enjoy it.

Great people, great company, plenty of yarns and great to catch up with everyone.

My hat is tipped to a huge "thank you" to the organisers and supporters who made it come together oh so well. There is a hell of a lot of work and coordination to pull events like this off in a successful way.

Tad hot weather for me (ye I'm a sook). But thankfully there was a reasonable amount of shade and two B.B.Qs close by to our table.

Being able to get what I needed done on that day meant leaving earlier than I wanted to, as I still needed to catch up with a few people on the day and didn't.. my apologies guys..

Besides the sun having a hard on, it was a very nice day, and I could do it again tomorrow, as the sun's going down though.. lol :)

That was the first bccc bbq for me, so I have some feedback and suggestions that would definately help to make an event like that easier. Next time Im talking to an admin...
