How long have you had your licence for?

i first got my Learners way back in 1999 at the rip age of 16 and i was lazy and didn't go for my P's, my learners expired, didn't mater to much back than, i had a push bike and roller blades,

than the ACT was about to introduce a new Leaners test so i run in the day before the new system and got my learners the 2nd time...

the new system is still used today, you have to sit through a 2 day course (usually saturday and sunday) learning all the road rules, and than your given a test with 30 question rondomlly sellected out of 320..... making it hard to cheat. but if you pay attention during the course the question are very simple....

i obtained my P's in december 2001

i have had my fair share of fines to which i am not proud of, but i have still managed to retain my licence over the years

in june 2002 i attended a Road Ready plus course, knowen to P Platers as the P'off course. very simple course, boosted my points and i didn't need to display my p plates.

i finally got my opens in 2004.

i obtained my motor cycle learners in not long after having my opens, but in the ACT, you you don't go for your Moto cycle test you have to resit the Leaner test again :(

got my learners in 2000, got my p's in 2001. I obtained my truck licence in 2006. Have lost my licence 3 time's. Twice for point's , bald tires, too low, too loud, that kind of stuff, lost it the last time for doing over 40kph over the limit. Owned my first v8 at 19, first ls1 at 21. Owned my first v6 at 23. Lol.

I got my licence in 1988, fortunately we only had to wait 12 months before going from provisional to open licence back then. Still on my original licence (more good luck than anything else when I think back to all the stupid stuff I got away with back in my younger years!!). I also got my bike licence somewhere along the way, can't remember when exactly

I got my first car a year later - it HAD to be a Commodore, so I rode the pushie to work for a year and saved up on an apprentices wages to buy my first car. It was a beige (torquay sand) VH 3.3L auto Commodore - stock standard and that's the way it fairly much stayed for a while as I saved up for another engine. About 18 months later my mates and lifted out the 202 & trimatic and dropped in a 308 & M21. I also replaced the back axle with a disc brake LSD ten bolt diff. And it went on from there.

I held onto that car until I got the SS on the road in 2003. Was sad to see the old girl go, but some of that car lives on in the SS as I swapped over some of the good bits like the Walky wheels :)

got my L's in 99', got my licence in 2005 ( didnt need a licence in maryborough when ya know the cops hehehe ), lost 3 points doing 13kph over 2 months after i got my licence, stayed on 1 point for 3 an abit years ( << that was freakin hard lol )

I got my L's in 1996...
Made it onto P's...
28+ canary's (lost count), 7 suspensions (some concurrent), 1 disqualification later, to today and this year, a milestone, Im on my opens...
so about 3-4 years shy of 13 years.

L's in 2002 (NSW) - Busted for Unsupervised Lerner and Not Display P Plates at 5am in the morning. Completed a legitimate 250 hours Supervised driving in 12 months.
Obtained my P's on the 13th Jan 2003 (Birthday) at 8am. received my first ticket after being dumb in Newcastle one night and doing a powerskid in a mates VN SS (He was in the car egging it on along with the other 3 drunk bugger) Was Busted but only fined for not display P plates.

Was fined for Exceed speed in Mar 03 (14 over) -
Was fined for exceed speed in Jan 04 (13 Over - QLD offence)
Drive Car with bald tyres (NSW offence - $60 no Demeit points) - April 05
Drive defective (QLD offence Dec 05) - Yellow Sticker
And the one that made me grow-up and stop being a tool - 2006 June 99km/h in a 70km/h zone $250 - 4 points two days prior to getting open licence. Spent one year on 1 point and had no offences since then.

I will have been clean for 4 year next June.

Mmmm sad to say but got my Learners way way way back in 1972, P's in 73 and lost only 4 points in that time.

got my learners bout 2 years ago, and had my P's for 11 mnths. wo0t!
still havent been pulled up by the cops yet or had a speeding fine.
not bad for having such an out there car and no speedo :D

Don,t talk about it ,i,m so friggen old now, got mine in 1965, truck,bus, car ,bike, forklift and speedboat.Never been booked but you shouldn't say "never" ,it could happen today,,,lol,,,I better enjoy it ,they'll be wanting to take it away from me one day. hahaha :p

Since 1972. Only ever lost it once in all that time to now; and was on P plates so it took me two years to have full licence. That was in NSW where P plate was 80kph limit and just one offence was instant loss of licence for 12 mths.

I got pulled up by the lawmen at Lithgow in the Blue Mountains when I only had one mth to go to get my full licence. :(

Learners 1992 on my 16th b-day (i was very keen the old's already had bought me a 1989 holden drover (suzuki sierra equiv) a week b4 it.
P's 12mths later.Neva lost my licence yet almost did.... for 2yrs was on 11 points till i got 3 back.... drove like my nan for 2yrs...lol

i think i beat everyone 1963. got it in a 1957 fe sdn. the transport dept. in brisbane those days was northern end of story bridge where the fire dept. is today.this is where you got your licence.
