Is that comprehensive or 3rd party with or without fire and theft cover? If its comprehensive what are they willing to pay out?

Ah yeah i just went the 3rd party with fire n theft $366 for 12 months. The extra cash they wanted for full comp just wasn't worth it as like you said they just wanted to pay market value which is stuff all anyway

Yeh this the bit that I found hard to come to terms with when I bought the Calais.

I insure through Suncorp and have for many years.

Prior to the Calais we had a 4 banger Camry auto, stock as a rock. When we insured the Calais at time of buying and prior to drive away off the showroom floor brand new, we rang the insurance company and it became aparent that the luxo was $125 cheaper than the Camry to insure despite the Calais being a V8 that was optioned to the hilt (round figures $68,000). Same drivers nominated as previous. Same insurance Company for that matter.

My comprehensive insurance is way, way cheaper than my Rego Cost. Not that I am advocating Suncorp in any way at all as I'm just one of a bazillion customers and in reality just a number; but surprisingly the only thing they were squirmish on was that it may have been a Turbo or Supercharge.

Weired eh..
