New rear end. Rear diffuser off Pontiac G8 GXP.

With a couple of mods this it has improved it 10 fold.

Just a dumbass, ill informed question from the ol fulla.

What does a diffuser do, is it an aerodynamic thing or a look good thing?

Mine doesn't have a diffuser of any sort but then I suppose its primary design is luxo.

I guess on a V8 Supercar Pete it would help keep the car to the ground. Ours probably aids as well but has a visual aspect as well.

I could be wrong.

Yeah it's an aero-dynamic aid.....

probably won't do much performance wise, but it could improve fuel econimy a smidgen

the rear bar of our SS is, for some dumb reason, different to the G8/GXP for fitting of the rear diffuser. You would think that in tooling it would be easier to make the actual fitting the same - even if the diffuser itself was different.

Anway, the mods required are:
Cutting off some tabs on the GXP diffuser
cutting some of the tabs on the new diffuser in half
extending the holes in the SS rear bar with a dremel (to make them longer)
modifying the 'hole' of the exhaust tips as the new diffuser is slightly different in design in that area.
There is also a mod to the u/s of the diffuser

These mods sound quite difficult but Corey had mine on my car within about 45 mins.

Sounds good, and looks 100x better than the standard one. God I hate that honeycomb crap when washing the car!!!

So how much did you pay Adam, and where do u pick one up from? I'd like to invest in one myself. (PS, why is it that everything you do, I want... lol)
