If the numbers support it (8-12), a group reef charter would be wicked. That way, everyone can take something home..... or meet for a bccc bbq... :P

Man I'd love to do this one...
Wherever doesn't worry me. I would certainy be lining up for a Reef Fishing Charter.
If there are enough interested in a Family Day and Fishing and Snorkelling or even some surfing all rolled up into one at my absolute favourite seaside place - Kingscliff, I'd be happy to route plan and organise.

Yeh I have come to love the joint across my Hols period Kev. But today I just realised that a fishing cruise and gig down there may not be what BCCC people want, as to fish NSW requires a licence (albeit you "can" get a day licence for $5 or so).
Snorkelling is fantastic on a run in tide, and the Gin Clear water of the Surf ain't bad either.. :D
As far as Fishing Kingscliff goes, I proudly wrote this up at the time:
39 cm bream (the measuring stick only goes to 40cm so it’s a big sucker) 23cm is the legal size.
Weight 1.2 kg = 2.6 pound - that’s one hell of a fish by bream size standards. Bloody broad in the shoulders and a typical blue nose of fish this size.
Bait = mullet flesh - No sinker - 12 pound line. Fishing the ocean side of the south wall at Kingscliff NSW
Busted off just when I got him up on the wall. I had to go searching for the mega bream on hands and knees. Found him precariously perched on a rock ledge under some boulders, big drop-off if he flipped. Very slowly I pinned him with my fingers and manouvred my other hand to get a firmer grip on things. Patience paid off as I would hate to lose such a prize. I was extraordinarily satisfied with having caught this fish, and as such, cut my fishing short by about 4 hrs as I was verry happy. But I am definately getting too old to get on down on hand and knee with bum in the air chasing fish through the boulders though - ouch and pain!!!! lol.
After fishing I went for a snorkel dive of the gin clear water of the river at Kingscliff. Then walked about 200 meters and had an absolute ball in the surf. Man it’s a nice place, great for singles and families alike.

hahaha Pete, very nice bream indeed. I had a 18ft rod that would have been perfect for ya to get over those rocks... That spot looks awesome though, and you ya pro with ya belt bait pouch lol
It leads me to wonder what other spots your holding out on hehehe
If someone puts an fishing thing up, I will be interested.
I was looking at something that looks amusing to try..... jug fishing in the estuary LOL
we go to yamba every 6 months, (my brother his family, and i) we grew up down there. we like to go after flathead on plastics, and also go after the big jew's on middle wall

Hey Brad
What about hooking onto a normal rather than "private" reef fishing charter. That way it's not reliant on having specific numbers required.
The below link is not the cheapest boat on the coast but holy begeesus it's big and comfy for those who may be a bit nervy as first timers.

An oraganise and pay for yourself gig. I rekken it would be a ton of fun, I've never been on a reef fishing charter before.
