Hi all. As part of our Fundraising campaign for Prostate Cancer during September and the want and need for a Club cruise, what better way than to join them together!

Josh K and I have been working on a few ideas and this is what we've come up with:

We will meet up at Springwood McDonald's and cruise on through to Mt Tamborine where we can stop for meet and greet and a group photo/s.

Onwards from there we cruise down the back of the mountain on to Spronbrook National Park for a BBQ and some footy, cricket, egg and spoon races etc.

Below is a link to the proposed cruise route. Thank you Josh K.

http://g.co/maps/99mdr

Considering it's not a massive cruise we could meet up at Springwood McDonald's at 9am and head up to Mt Tamborine at 9:30am - approximately 1 hour drive, stop over for meet and greet and group photo.

Head off from Mt Tamborine approximately 11:30 and head to Springbrook for a BBQ lunch and some activities. Arrive at Springbrook approximately 12:30.

Finish up the day at approximately 3pm allowing everyone to get home to relax and spit and polish their cars for the next days event - GM Roundup at Rocklea.

I have requested Tax Receipt Books from the Foundation and will have those prior to this cruise for Cash Donations.

For the Prostate Cancer Foundation I would like to see everyone attending the cruise donate either $5 or $10. In return each donater will receive 1 Ticket for $5 or 3 Tickets for $10 in the current Raffle we are running.

1st prize is a set of Front Slotted DBA 4000 Series Rotors donated by GSL RallySport and DBA

2nd Prize is a $250 Voucher to be spent at Mace Engineering donated by Mace Engineering

3rd Prize is 2 x Meguiars/Liqui Moly Packs donated by Meguiars.

Thank you to our Sponsors for their donations.

It's for a great cause people and yes there is a lot crammed into two days with the GM Roundup following the next day.

I wouldn't expect everyone to be able to do both so please get on board where you can as it is for a great cause and it an opportunity for good exposure for the Club.

Please vote on attendance so we can plan for catering purposes.

Also if the majority of people want an earlier start post it up and we can be flexible on this.

Cheers,

Scott

Just putting this back in your faces. Slight change from GC Spit to Springbrook National Park to ensure facilities and parking availability. Apologies for changes.

Please check the first post and post up if you are attending.

Getting away for me on just one day in a weekend is really difficult at the moment and I have already said yes to the Roundup event so this event is a no go for me unfortunately.

Guys, I spoke to Scott this morning and wanted to ask something.

It appears we are not getting good numbers for the roundup because people are doing the cruise the day before.

What if we postponed the cruise and still did the Prostate stuff but simply did it at the roundup. There may be a better chance to raise more money as well.

I think it is very important for BCCC to have a good showing at the roundup to keep things rolling

Yeah look it's my over enthusiasm that has put us in this spot. My sincere apologies.

I would love for everyone to attend the GM Roundup and show the public that we are here in force and want the BCCC to succeed.

We are planning for a Breast Cancer Fundraiser in October and there is no reason we can't organise the cruise for October. September has been a huge month for so many with Powercruise etc happening.

Again, my sincere apologies for this stuff around.

We really would love to see as many as possible attending the GM Roundup as I'd like to see it an annual event on the BCCC calendar.

Cheers,

Scott

P.S. My bad

Cheers Kris.

I'm happy to do a small scale version cruise to Mt Tambo and take some photos and have a catch up to get us out of the house for those over enthused individuals (like myself) and allow plenty of time to get home and prep for Sunday.

Cheers,

Scott

Scott is still organising something small mate. We just aren't going to put as much effort into it as first organized as we want people at the Roundup. Scott will have radios for those going on the cruise.

Sorry all, I'm away atm and working off my bb. Still going ahead but as Adam stated smaller scale. Up through Tambo, back down through Canungra and down to GC? We can discuss at maccas or in the coming days on the forum but yes as people won't be able to make the GM Roundup due to other commitments this is still going ahead. Be a gr8 opp to have a chat, get some pics and grab a bite to eat?

Let me know who has purchased a radio and will be on this one and I'll deliver personally to you. I'll charge them up the night prior so they're good to go for the drive ;).

Thanks Dave. Great to meet you. Thanks guys. Was great to get out of the house.
Busy prepping for tomorrow now and pics uploading so stay tuned although I think Kris got more shots.

The radios did go great! Nice range even on 1 watt! See you guys tomorrow. Keep an eye on the events section as we'll do more cruising and if anyone is going somewhere post it up and see if anyone can tag along. It's great to get out and meet and greet.

Decent lunch too when it arrived. ;)

Bit of a wrap up of the day.

Kicked off at Maccas at Springwood. Everyone refuelled with caffiene of some sort and we stood around and had a good chat about anything and everything and uneven stickers......another story for another time ;).

We headed off and hit the Yatala servo for a refuel and then off to Mt Tamborine we went. Traffic was somewhat heavy but we were a cool, calm and collected group. Once we hit the top of the mountain near the hang glider lookout, we decided it would be a good idea for a refuel of the other kind. As Dave's HSV had somewhat been in a stored state he was to leave the cruise and head home. Thanks for making the trip Dave. Appreciated having you there and meeting you. Definately getting out more so keep an eye on this section. Back on track......

We headed off to Mt Tamborine Brewery for a taste of Mt Tambo's finest. Only one of course as we were driving. After waiting a little while to digest our beverage, we headed off down the back of the mountain towards Canungra. Again we hit traffic (not literally) so the going was slow. Back burning meant one lane was closed so we were given a Police Escort to the end of the burn off area. The extremely nice Police Officer came over and asked what we were up to and commended the vehicles. Nice work guys. (The sticker was on the side he couldn't see so we were ok) :P

Off we went to the Spit for a bite to eat and a look at the scenery. What a lovely day it was. Got to say g'day to Tizmo via Facebook as she was in the area. Hey AM!

After what felt like well for some who didn't think ahead and get a cherry ripe, our meals arrived and we digged in! Once we scoffed that lot we decided to head back to the cars and head off home to prep for tomorrow. At one stage we honestly thought Adam had dropped on Lockyer style. Check the pics. ;)

Ah the drive home. What a trip. More traffic but we managed to get out of Surfers and on our way home. Home sweet home. Car cleaning on the agenda for some and sleep for the rest.

Thanks to Kris, Josh, Amy, Ashley, Nathan, Dave and me! Was a great day out and a fantastic day for cruising. There will be more to come so keep an eye on the Cruise Section and come along.

Cheers,
