Hi all.

Gauging interest for this event.

I've been in contact with the FX-FJ Holden Club of Qld and have discussed BCCC attending this event as a club.

As the attached flyer states, it is a family event with Food Stalls, Entertainment for the kids and a few other family friendly events.

Options for the club are:

GM Roundup at Rocklea Showgrounds Sunday 25 September 2011.

Please see attached link for more details and thread containing information.

I've been in contact with the FX-FJ Holden Club of Qld and have discussed BCCC attending this event as a club.

As the attached flyer states, it is a family event with Food Stalls, Entertainment for the kids and a few other family friendly events.

Options for the club are:

We can put our Club banner up and park behind it and our cars will be part of the Show/Shine and Judging.

So if everyone could please let us know who is serious about attending ASAP so we can advise numbers and get enough space allocated for the Club display.

Also anyone who wants to enter the judging will have to submit the attached Entry Form - Noting that Pre Entry price is $20 for the car and 2 people (including the driver)or $30 on the day. Children under 14 are free.

This would be a great place to advertise the club and get it's name and what we are about out there.

Just a thought for those choosing to enter the judging, we could make up small signs and laminate them displaying the BCCC logo and "Look but don't touch" to display under your wipers or in the engine bay? Anyone interested in this let me know and I'll work with a few people to get them made up. I have a laminating machine at home.

One thing that Shane of FX-FJ Club asked is that we all arrive in a group to ensure we are allocated enough room for the club display.

Everyone attending will need to complete the entry form and tick which category you wish to be judged in.

Cheers,

Scott

Good work Scott. Glad to see you getting the hang of things.

I think this would be a great outing for the club. Timing is perfect to keep things on a roll

I've added this as a Calander entry so everyone can add there RSVP in there also.

Either way, let us know who is definate to attend the day:

1. With the Club Banner - to ensure we are allocated enough space
2. With their year of manufacture for judging.

Cheers,

Scott

No worries Scott. Have some minor damage I should have fixed by then. Some old fella in a Landcruiser backed into me but agreed to pay for the damage so long as I used his paint and panel shop in Jimboomba. Inconvenient but at least no cost to me.

If he backed in to u... he is liable regardless where u want it repaired. Point I'm making is if u wanna go somewhere else, u have that choice. Your insured i take it? All u have to do is give his details to your insurance company and they will do the rest. but if ur happy to give it to him to repair then go for it :D

Ok all. Bit of an update.

I have requested bank details so we can prepay the $20 for entry. We may simply pay this into the BCCC account and do one transfer to FX-FJ Club's account to streamline things.

Ok so if I can please get those that are definates to come along to this event please post up your name in this thread and if we can get completed entry forms emailed to myself at scruba75@hotmail.com I will collate these and process with the FX FJ Holden Club.

They have requested that we have all entries and pre-payment in by 16th September to allow them to send out Windscreen Stickers and Tickets for entry to the event.

If anyone decides after the 16th of Sept to join, not a problem. Complete your entry form and bring it along with you to the day.

Just to confirm:

$20 covers one car, Driver and 1 passenger. Additional passengers will be $5 extra and children under 14 (accompanied by an adult) are free.

This is a great event for the whole family and a fantastic place for us to recruit new members.

Please get posting and I will add your name to the list.

Yes I am insured and I am happy for him to pay for it. He is doing so out of his own pocket and not involving his insurer. Parts already arrived in stock and primed ready for painting. Car will be done soon. Yes I'm insured.

I know what it takes to organize something for the club from experience and I know that Scott has put his all into this so the very least that we can do is get in behind him and show some support in return by giving up one day to support the club. What's the worse that could happen after all? We have a good day showing off our cars and enjoy some friendship? Thanks Scott for your efforts.

Guys, this is going to sound really strange... But was wondering if anybody going on Sunday had one of those colapsable banana lounges I could borrow. It's better for me to lie than to sit upright in a chair. This might be the perfect answer.

Ah Keith. I've had a couple of 1am rises of late. Looking forward to tomorrow though. An Ice Break to start the heart, some 98 octane to get the SS going and we'll be on our way all packed up ready for a great day.

Keith I love to see the old cars out there. Makes my blood pump. Love the old Chevs, Buicks and Pontiacs. Just gorgeous cars. Good to see they aren't hidden away so we can all enjoy them.

What I really got a kick out of today was the enthusiasm across the whole age brackets. I heard comments from young kids with their parents - hey mum/dad check out his one cool! to the older guys who just loved the fact that someone was interested in their car and I got some fantastic run downs on a few old cars by their owners. The old guys loved the event today. They loved the fact the younger generations were happy to listen to them about how they'd done whatever to their vehicles.

Shame there were other events that held this one back today.

I've got a suspicion that they used to run these cars at Lakeside.

Might have to check out QR's website calendar but I'm sure the HQs still run around also.

Definately worth looking into and heading out for a look.

GM Roundup Wrap Up!

What a long day for us all. Some kicked off at 3:45, others earlier. The weather threatened as I woke to the sound of rain and told the missus I was glad I'd washed the car the day before as I know everyone else had also done. But the weather held off. Thanks Mtr Nature ;).

We rolled into Maccas on Granard Road one by one. Some by two. Time for a refuel of the caffiene kind! Ziggy was first to arrive and assured me that the coffee was worth it! I opted for a Mother size can of Mother and was ready to go! I swear the Monaro looked like it had just been driven off the showroom floor. Immaculate!

Alex from Mr Muffler rolled in bearing a couple of Commodore Systems in the ute. Thanks Alex for your participation today.

Then the remainder of the Club started rolling in. Of course, Kris' 5 - 10 minutes turned into 12 (yeah mate I timed ya :p) and Carbon was running on time also. :P Once everyone arrived, had a chat and wiped down their cars it was time to roll out.

Off we went. 2nd set of lights and the tail end of the "convoy" was stuck at the lights. Great start! We caught up to the rest of the club and off we went to the Showgrounds. Once there (some of us hehehe) entered through the wrong gate but such is life.

The rest of us were ushered around the bend and into the grounds. Once inside, we were ushered into our spots. Up went the Marquee, up went the Club banner and Sponsors display table and A Frame (see pics) then we were ready to rumble.

Time to take in the sights of the array of gorgous sheet metal and iron that was to roll into the grounds. Ahhh bliss.

So many examples of the GMs finest were there. Australian and American vehicles were very well represented. One vehicle that was an absolute credit to it's owner was the '70s GTS One Owner and he still gets it serviced where he bought it! Now that's commitment!

The "BASH A FORD" and "CRUSH A TOYOTA" were a hit! Literally. ROCK YA took to the FORD and he looked like he knew how to handle a sledge hammer!! There were kids of all ages getting stuck into the event.

I think that Adam would have taken out fashion of the field if he'd come colour coordinated to his car - (read Mankini).

Special mention must go to Kris and Shay for their attempt at sticker application. This seemed to catch the eye of the judges. As always guys, just kidding.

A huge congrats and thank you to all the members who made the treck including our new members. Thank you for coming along today it was a fantastic day out and a great way to finish the weekend for BCCC.

Without further adue, CONGRATULATIONS BCCC. We dominated our Class - 2000 - 2009.

ZiggyCV8 - 1st in the modified category
CARBON - 2nd in the modified category

MARK - 1st in the un-restored category
VALIK - 2nd in the un-restored category.

Thank you to our sponsors for particpating today and also for your support to the club. We are forever grateful.

Thanks again to everyone for coming along to this event. It was a fantastic day and only a sample of what is to come for BCCC.

Stay tuned to the Club Calendar and Events Section for more happenings.

Cheers,

Scott

Mate, I am happy to advertise for Wortec. Do they know what we are planning and would they sign off on it? What if QSCM got a hold of the pics and they went viral all the way to Wortec! Hmmmm...I think you should put your back into it and put one on.

Due to other car shows being pushed back and having to choose the same day there wasn't the attendance to this one that would have been otherwise but none the less a lot of very nice cars were there.

Of course we were there and cleaned up the category in the judging!
