I have finally got myself a heater fan for my vh that thought that it was a vb. Cost me $2. Yes you have guessed it it does not work. Does anyone know where I can get the motor reconditioned.

I was lucky enough to find a NOS fan motor on Ebay a few months ago.
I can't believe they are so difficult to find.

have you tried www.findapart.com.au ? I've always found them good in locating hard to find bits

failing that, I'm sure an autoelectrician would be able to repair the one you have. It probably just needs a new set of brushes

Thanks Darren I will try find a part. I have already tried an auto electrician. He told me that parts were unavailable.

Tried find a part. I have got two responses, both second hand. Will most probably buy them both.

Yes I have. They should arrive early next week. Also bought an aluminium radiator today. Fits perfect apart from the bottom hose not fitting and the locating lugs being in the wrong place. Just minor details. I will get them fixed on Monday.

First heater fan to arrive was for a hq-wb. Obviously was never going to fit. Rung them sent it back. Second fan had not arrived so I rung them, they had a wedding in the family hence the delay. Both fans have now arrived, both wrong. I explained exactly what I wanted, Bosch fan and that it went in the engine bay between the wiper blades. Have to ring them on Monday, I suspect they don't have what I want.

Got the aluminium radiator back from JOH engineering yesterday, cost a bit more than I expected but very pleased with the result. They do excellent work. Fitted it today, no problems.

ah you have the non-A/C fan...
what a pain in the arse this fan is going to be.
I was going to say I found a blower fan in a VH at ABC wreckers Blacksoil, but it's from an A/C model - fan sits underneath the glovebox. So no good to you.
Maybe give them a call, they do usually keep a few early models. Just clarify with them that it's got to be out of a non-A/C car

Thanks Darren. They were among the first people I contacted. I bought a fan off them. Seeing as how it cost only $15 I didn't bother to take it back.

Thanks for that. The old girl went into Pedders this afternoon so I was to late to ring them. Will try tomorrow.
