Big congrats to Jim (JET V6) for making 513rwkw :D

Making only around 420rwkw before and pulling a 9.6 down the quarter with IRS rear end should be good to see what she makes on the track if the drive line can hold up

Here is clip of this beast in auction which is a MUST watch as the car is quite a handful on the track. Who knows how it will go now with the extra power LOL

No roll cage? What sort of MPH is it running? probably needs a parachute also.

Interesting using the stock rear end, id be going all out on it making that sort of power. Won't last long lol.

Nope, still cant see it. There is a big difference between a big dollar built 9 second car and a 14 second L67 with an exhaust and an upgraded pulley :p

As for the VT, thats pretty dam impressive. I thought it would have been the blue VT L67 (TUFF 6, i think its plates are???).

credit due to the car but i agree no roll cage etc etc to run lower than a 10 im surprised its stil racing and ANDRA allow it. With a cage etc pulled up at the lights would make people laugh then then they would cry when they get flogged hahahahaha STREET SLEEPER

I would guess the car is from SA, considering it is still running with no cage? SA done have any ANDRA sanctioned tracks, from memory, so that would be why ANDRA hasn't stepped in and said no to them. Of course that is only a guess, as to why it doesn't have a cage.

I don't think VIC has an ANDRA sanctioned track either. Some one correct me if I'm wrong?

That is run at Heathcoate in Victoria. Ive run there before, no Andra rules. Basically run what you bring. You can run 7s with no cage if you want, but that would be crazy.

No doubt this is an incredibly quick car with an indecent amount of power. My question would be what would the result be if they had started with a v8.

be like any other turbo 8 out there im assuming, i can see where there comming from in building a very quick turbo V6 thou, its hardly ever done because quiet frankly its cheaper to extract power out of a aussie 5ltr, im guessing they wanted to make jaws drop, in which they succeeded lol, i mean if you saw the line up of cars and saw a turbo V6 in the line up anyone would think eh, good for a 11 if ya lucky then it drops a jaw staggering 9.6, would get alot of people talking and some much needed advertisment to all involved in the car

iv wanted to build a tuff 6 for years, but the cost of doing so is just unreasonable in my opinion, but im a tight arse :D

Go the slackness on my end :(

Thanks for the kind words it’s certainly fun on the street to say the least :D

As for the price of the build, any thing competing at this level is always going to be expensive, whether it’s a 6 or an 8

Update on the beast.

Car was out at Calder on Good Friday and did a 9.50 @ 142mph before getting booted out

The lower MPH was the fact that a spark plug had failed before mid track causing it to miss and the exhaust manifold had cracked in 3 different areas so it was pretty much was on 5 cylinder from just b4 mid track.

Not bad for a 5 cylinder machine :p

So clearly a low 9 is on the cards for sure :D

Cheers,
Steve

good god that is insane, it is fun to run a reasonablie fast v6, but once u have done all the bolt on stuff it gets real expensive to build the v6's up, and they seem to be hard to get good reliability out of them, hense why i have done else to my 6

Considering they run two less cylinders they're not as expensive to build up as some might think, we're talking high end builds like this one :)
