Ok heres the plan for the cruise meet up at Caboolture BP I will be near where the trucks park area of the carpark. For here we will head north alongthe highway til we reach the Daguilar hwy exit. we will head out along this road all the way to kilcoy. At kilcoy we will stop to regather the group (dependant on the size). THe place i am proposing is just on the entry to Kilcoy there is a park on the left that we can stop and wait. from here we follow the highway through Kilcoy it makes a sharp left turn the a right turn. from here follow the highway out til you reach the esk kilcoy turn. Turn left here and then follow it out til you reach the entry to the dam.
The area that Ihad in mind in round to the right of the main "spit" area. This will allow for plenty of room for kids to run around and for a kick of the footy or cricket what ever you want to do. There are bbq's there table etc. if you plant on bbq'ing remember to bring your own food cooking utensils lighters etc. etc.
This is shaping up to be a good day and I am looking forward to meeting alot more of you all.
Please also remember this is a cruise not a race. I for one don't want to see any dangerous driving or speeding on this cruise. All speed limits, including roadworks are to be adhered to at all times. I am sure am i not alone with this.
Lastly lets get out there and enjoy the day, it will be a good day.
im looking forward to it. Im hoping my new camera lens will have arrived by then too. :)

As advised before, I may not have been avil for this one. It looks like a good mate of mine needs me to drive some of his clients to SuperGP on Sat and Sun and pick them up afterwards....
I'll see how Im going for time and might come for a quick run back up the highway for an hour or so.
will have a spare backseat if anyone wants a lift and can get up my way.

Yeh the radios are important.
I would offer a lift to anyone, but you would need to get to the meeting point, and be aware thet I will be returning home southward via the scenic route of Mt Glorious and Mt Nebo, so getiing you home could be a problem.

Ahh Kev, not to worry, there will be a next time for the Jetski. Great to see your still coming along.
It's a cloudless morning shaping up nicely, and will be a great run and fun day. Hell, I may even get in the water too - what a sight lol.
I can't find my camera charger, so someone better tak plenty of photos.
Two hours to go and counting down...
was a nice cruise out there, was good to just relax at the dam and share some story's.
Had a blast driving home with Calaisrider, QCK57 and Bradass.... Loved the mountain driving, although i lost break pressure by the bottom, i think i cooked my fluid, the breaks soon came back. Ill upload pics over the next day or 2, need to lay down and rest now.

Yeh riding the brakes or late braking in an auto causes grief on long downhill twisty runs. I still remember Mrs Wombat burning the begeesus (smoke and all) off her brakes coming down from Tamborine along the Henri Roberts Drive heading toward Narang - and we were going real slow at the time. No damage done, once cooled by a short drive not using the brakes and all was ok.
I generally have mine locked in 2nd or 3rd gear so the engine compression helps releive the strain on the brakes, but then again I do have QFM Track Pads, DBA Slotted rotors and Castrol Racing Brake fluid to help (and the car does handle very well now so brake application is minimal).
That run from Somerset, through Mt Glorious and down to Samford has some great diversity and lovely rainforrest scenery and interesting roads. Great lookouts and places to stop off for a coffee/scone and take in the ambience of the place too. I loved it today when I started to hear the Bell Birds tweeting half way up to the summit at Mt Glorious. Nature oh so close to Brisbane, how good is that.
Fabulous day in all and superb company of folk along. Life is grand - live it to the max as though there is no tomorrow and you can't go wrong; "home-bound" is for Nerds, Couch Potatos and Wanna Be's. A big thanks to the organisers of today.
I'm feeling very serene, mellow and relaxed that I have had another enjoyable day with the BCCC folk who do actually get out and about on events and cruises.

I had fun as well as the kids
was good to meet and chat with all that were there
the run around the dam was a bit slow on the way there for my liking , but i sorted that on the way home fuel economy went down a bit after leaving the dam , some nice long sweepers i passed a ute that was waiting for his mate
and then he tryed to catch back up
i didn't let him get closer than about a kilometer , it was fun just keeping an eye on the mirors and adjusting the speed acordingly

Yeh Brad, I use QFM A1RM - the buggers are almost indestructable from my experience. I was always changing pads because of the motorsport work until I found them through our sponsor gslrallysport.
On today's run I had no probs at all and I confidently know that if I was pushing hard, the same result would be the case...
http://www.brisbanecommodore.com/bccc/showthread.php?t=235
The beauty of em is that they perform really nicely when cold, but they get better as they get hotter. They are rated to 800 degrees celcius - fawwk thats seriously high temp and way beyond what basic Brake Fluids can handle - hence I use Castrol Synthetic Racing Fluid exclusively.. Some may argue the fluid issue but I am just conveying my experience, and I wouldn't change from the Castrol Product for love nor money.

Yeah Pete, I've gotten a quote from them for front/rear and fluid, but I didn't get around to it at the time as the ebc still have a little bit left in them yet.... But those A1RM are my next pad choice... Will be nice to see the difference!
