I ran a PB of 13.21@106.82mph. That's in a near stock VE SS (only headers 3" exhaust, no tune)

The first meet has come and gone, with mixed results.
I am now happy i have taken the car to the track earlier than planned as i have come away with a lot more knowledge about the car and the set up. I only had 3 wants from the first visit 1. drive it home, dont tow it home, 2. A 130+MPH and 3. run a 10, however as you read you will see why this was not possible.
The results-
1.
1st pass forget it, the car ran the next two passes, 11.5/11.6 @ 132MPH and 2.0-2.2 60ft, i know im soft i was over cautious thru 1st and 2nd, launches where at 3500rpm an I did allow the car to roll forward before fully releasing the clutch to allow the gear to be rolling to soften the strain on the drive gear. I then was informed my burnout was not long enough "thanks Northy" In addition the ass end handled it, next visit i will ask more off it of the lights.
1.a My ripshift did not turn up "thanks GMM", 2nd to 3rd with standard shift was hurting me. Looking forward to the auto...........:headbang:
2.
I was ask by the offical after these runs not to take the car full throttle in the deep, or take the slicks off. Reason being the car was near crossing up in the deep, the car was doing 200+kph and was at times starting to slide and point into the opposite lane and then my side of the wall, very nervie, but also cool as a driver to drive thru this situation "LOL" . I was always in control but looked wild. i was on and off the throttle at times to keep control; hence hurt my MPH and times. I was unaware that my car would behave the way it did in the deep. I ran my 20" directional tyres with my slicks. The result was that the car had too much MPH, was dancing in the top end of the track very aggreesively. Apperently the rules state that after 12.xx /MPH you should not run this tyre combo, 2 reps from andra/track showed me this rule......I was cool and understand, they also stated i did control it well and that the car will run 10's and they will kick me off anyway...........with a smile they were cool officials.:thumbs up:
I had a run with 20" street tyres but why to much wheel spin 2nd & 3rd and ran 12@128mph sixty foot forget it.
I am happy with the R&D exercise, and also the result given my challenges I had faced. I am also now ready to make the changes required to hit my target. So now i will put the shifter in get some front runners and hit the lights a bit harder.
Big thanks to Northy and Ross.

I had a great day at the track running a PB of 12.3@119mph the first run I had a bit of an issue with my clutch pedal sticking to the floor as I gave it a bit too much going off the line. I still managed a 13.5 though with that issue clutch smelt shocking after that run lol. The second pass was a 12.7 as I got a better launch off the line. The 3rd pass I got a good launch off the line and just went as hard as I could I love my car mid range power and acceleration. I don't think I did too bad for someone who really only goes to the track once a year having a better set of tyres helped to. Was a great afternoon out I had a ball. Bring on next year.:bouncing:
