Has anyone had any experience with Dynamat Extreme sound deadening material?

Do you have to strip the floor back to metal before applying?

Does anywhere in Brisbane undertake fitment of the stuff ?

Any recommendations as to where to go buy or get fitted?

Any info would be appreciated

Yes - Northfield car sound sell and can install the stuff, it does add weight to the car as it is pretty heavy but its good stuff, makes big difference specially when doing a good sound system. Does cost abit too depending how much you want to do. Give them a call and they will be able to give you a quote.

I used to have dynamat in my old VT. It makes a huge difference if SQL (sound quality) is your game, however I wouldn't run it if your chasing SPL (sound pressure).

If you want the best quality to come out of using dynamat you have to do the whole car, things like boot surface, walls and lid, door trims etc...

It can be quite expensive aswell, but very, very worth it.

Thanks Guys, I'll pay Northfield a visit.

Hmm doing the whole car could be spensive and may end up being another project over time.

I was thinking Boot and Rear Seats wall, plus complete Cabin floorpan. I suppose your correct, do it once and do it right! Outwardly I could probably stretch $$ to include the doors but thats all.

Its not soundproofing eh, its just sound reduction. A completely soundproofed car would be weired to ride in I rekken.

Yea it's sound deadening, not sound proofing.
