Congratulations to Darren for wining COTM for September 2007
What can i say... This is one VERY fine VS commodore... Both in the looks department, and power aswell. Since purchasing the car roughly 2 years ago, Darren has put alot of time and money into making it the car it is today.
Under the bonnet is a un-opened ECOTEC V6 motor, with the addition of a 'RAPTOR' supercharger kit, which breaths thru a set of Pacemaker extractors and a 3" mendral bent exhaust system. Behind the motor is a 5Spd gearbox with a heavy duty clutch, running to a LSD diff with a 3.9:1 gear ratio. Which has pushed this VS down the black top at a personal best of 13.8 @ 98.7mp/h and has made a best of 286rwhp... not bad for a un-opened V6.
The interior... well, lets just say the Clubbie seats really come in handy when it comes to holding you in your seat. Darren has added a set of VS HSV Clubsport front and rear seat, SS pedals, custom green vinyl door panels and painted his dash facia green aswell.
Keeping him entertained while driving is a Pioneer DVD player, a set of Alpine TypeR splits and Pioneer 6x9"s running off a Pioneer amp, and a 15" Fusion sub in custom box running off a Fusion mono-block amp. I must say it makes for some nice tunes while cruising the streets.
Now the looks dont just stop there... From the outside it looks just as good. It sits at the perfect ride height, complimented by a set of 18" 'VY SS' rims and just to add that touch of class, darren has added some chrome window surrounds into the mix.
All in all, this VS has style, sound, and the power to match... All in all, the right recipe to create the perfect street cruiser. Keep an eye out for Darrens VS as he has more plans to come in the near future, which include a front mount intercooler, a set of roller rockers and who knows, maybe a few other goodies
As always Darren, keep up the good work, and congratulations again for winning COTM.
