I didnt want to own up to the delinquency of my youth..
Drive ins were all about something other than movies , and then you had to get your passenger home at a reasonable hour or her old man would want to kill you ( mates sisters remember, they knew who you were and how to find you )

Ahhhh, the memories. Sounds pretty much on the mark of my recall of it.
Some great movies were almost completely missed despite paying good $$ to get into the Drive-in. And yeh I was in NSW at the time, so it was same everywhere lol. "All Hail" the Panel Van and Wagons of the day, I spent a fortune on Dunlopillow Rubber Matress and pure Velvet covering in a gold colour that was custom tailored to fit - umm, not sure why, I think it was for luxo camping or something along that line???? I'm sure that it wouldn't be "dressed to impress" or "come into my parlor said the spider to the fly" which seemed important at the time :o :headbang: :o
All I know is that Alcohol was a mandatory!!!
Hard to do a burnout with that much weight in the back and at a time when the 5 litre being regarded as humoungous, "Holley" was the buzzword of power-adders. But I suppose it was just a different type of burnout should a combination of luck and mother class bumping on your door - I'm only summising of course. It was a whole nother era than that of today. Both are fun, albeit way different.
:D
