ill be doing the brakes soon and wondering a few things

ill be putting on DBA 4000 series slotted rotors and GSL rallysport pads on the front and stocko's on the rear, car does NOT have ABS

with this im wondering is it worthwhile chasing down some VT calipers?
whats involved in the VT caliper conversion? ( been reading up on it and i cant find a straight answer lol some say its a straight swap, others say i need a bracket )

any ideas? :)

i put VY twin piston brakes on my vn, and they bolted stright on, all i had to get was a brake line to suit, which PBR make to suit this.

if your interested in going down this path, i could sell you my set up for $450.
im running DBA gold series crossdrilled and slotted rotors with protec cerimac pads. she pulled up bloody hard. ask chris. LoL.

well as far as an upgrade, decent pads and rotors with fresh brake fulid would be fine pete.

just organised some DBA 4000 series slotted rotors ( not using cross drilled have heard to many horror stories about them shattering ) for $130 each, waiting to hear back on the price of some GSL rally pads, just going to do the front for the time being, had a look at the rear and the rotors and pads are almost new lol

Upgraded pads, rotors, fluid etc. will be more than enough on most cars... But if you did want to at some stage later on do a caliper conversion the new hotness is the VE caliper, not the VT:
http://www.brisbanecommodore.com/bccc/showthread.php?t=500

The big advantages of the VE over the VT is:
- You can get bigger rotor, 322mm vs 298mm
- The VE caliper has less flex than VT
- The VE caliper has slightly smaller pistons, which means MUCH better pedal feel, especially for pre-VR cars
- The pad shape has less angular area, meaning the pad is better modulated

For the extra few bucks, if you're going to go to the effort of doing a conversion, the VE is a definite step up fro VT.
