I tried to keep our ute hidden so people would look at the cars. Nearly successful.

I've never driven a ve car so I can't compare it with one. My previous ute was a vy ss. It is like comparing chalk with cheese. My clubsport has been lowered and has had pedder suspension throughout. The ute would run rings around it. The old girl has pedder suspension, quicker in a straight line but thats it. The only modifications are growler induction (worthless) advance tri y headers and f1 exhaust. Hasn't been tuned yet so power is unknown. As with all the vehicles that I have owned for over 30 years I keep the tyre pressure at 45 lb. I find it helps when cornering. I will keep it until the v8's go to direct injection. If they don't I can not think of a reason to sell it. Only problem is that Bernadette likes it as well.

keith I have had over 25 cars in my 40 something years and this has been the cheapest build I have ever done just over 20k spent swapping and changing breaking things (I dont mind breaking things just means I make it better) my xu1 torana owes me $50k and the engine is still not together my xy gt is being complety rebuilt bills so far of $30k now my eldest boy has brought a xp ute ( dad can you help me build this) but back to the point the ve's are a very cheap bulid up and for the money can cut it with any eurpean car built right

Your ute does go around the curves well, or maybe it's the skills of the steerer!!!
I did get mine wheel aligned today; every corner was out of whack big time. Additionally the sway bar was almost totally unbolted on the left side front - no wonder it was rattling like a bucket of bolts across bumps and not too sure footed. My pet hate about VEs is the lack of ability to get negative camber into the front. I asked for negative 1.5 camber with zero toe, and was hard pressed to scrape 1.0 negative camber out of the thing - its at its max adjustment even using the clevis bolts. With all the changes it feels a tad weired and flighty atm.
I run between 38 and 40 psi, not sure I'm brave enough to run 45 and still keep my fillings in with the 20" wheels.
Pete
