HI Guys,
Im suprised to not see any threads about nitro rc cars/trucks....
I have only dibbled in these a little a few years back but due to lack of funds just stopped and have had the car in the shed since then..
I am wanting to get this back out and teach myself again..does anyone know much about these engines? Cause I am unable to pull the starter...
Its a belt driven 4wd with the front drive belt removed for that extra sideways action...
I have a VY Toll HSV shell, a BA XR8 shell, a S13 Silvia and a VU Maloo shell...
Its a .1cc engine and so far I have lost count on the number of rear tires I have fried...
Im looking at getting the .1cc running again before I look at moving from 1:10 to the next size up with the 5cc engines...or twin 3cc engines with scale superchargers..

Hi mate, you have just reminded me that I have 2 off road nitros stored away for over 3 years!!! Maybe I should dig them out.
You can pull the starter of, mine have few screws. The starters do not normally go back on but. Just buy replacements and swap over. Starters do not always last that long.
Oh I guess I should check if they are pull start? As I am talking about pull starts.

Thanks for the tips. I might mess up if I didn't read your steps. Starters is an important part that is why I'm quite cautious just like the other guy. I guess buying a replacement is a good idea to have a spare part too.

if I ever get back in R/C cars, I want to go 1/4 scale
these suckers are far more realistic in the way they handle/move
They used to race them at the Brendale track, don't know if they still do

might be the one way bearing inside the pull start, i used to have a traxxas revo 3.3 and that was the problem i had at one stage, changed them over and was working fine again, at the moment i only have brushless rc's now
