very nice pete you know i love it man :)

Yeh gotta stop that smokey rear end though - way too spensive. I'm up for a new set of rears after motorkhana championships a couple weekends ago. Man, them 20" are close on $500 each. New ones going on next Monday.

Yeh I gotta say that it feels good too. The Cam and stuff that has gone in across the past few weeks of my holidays makes all the difference and has produced a nice streetable drive (even with it running a stock stall atm). It also has heaps of grunt throughout the rev range and responsiveness to the level that I have never previously had. The Test Mule ISKY cam that Hi Torque put in is a damned good piece of kit when tuned right.

I was somehow getting tired of the Commodore/Car scene but now feel re-enthused and quite excited as the car is now a great daily driver and quite streetable, but holy hell it goes when you push the GO pedal.. Its not just the power, its that the whole package now feels good.

My wife begs to differ as she likes the luxo quiet side of things!! Oh well she will get used to driving a bloody quick K Mart Shopping Trolley - her biggest gripe is that ESP activation/warning keeps coming on - sheit what do you expect with approx 500 flywheel hp under your foot driving around town :o lol.

As far as the shoes go Mark, I seem to spend all my available $$ on power, handling, and stopping; then just when I think I have it sorted something wears out, breaks or needs replacing; I really haven't got to the point of looking at new wheels - but my goal was always to produce a stocko luxo perception, with that "just off the showroom floor" Holden look, and an old fart driver - the element of surprise I suppose lol.

Gods country Ben

Kingscliffe. It is such a photogenic and beautiful place it's hard to describe. It has something for almost everyone, young and old alike. I have been down there at least two days a week throughout my current holidays.

I just love the place.

Funny that, we have the old fart driver thing in common...lol...the sleeper look is a good thing at times I imagine, no unwanted attention..Theres always something to spend money on with these damn cars..My missus doesn't mind spending some coin on the looks dept., just needs a bit more convincing when it comes to the go fast goodies...Will be interesting to see what times you run when its all sorted..

Yep, I'm really happy with it, despite there being some probs with my ECU to be sorted, the car hauls nice and hard now. The Cam itself was a Test Mule for Hi Torque as they had not fitted such a speced cam to any of their cars in the past. Friggen big lift compared to Comp Cam. Heyy, somone has to trial and test such things...

Even with the auto with stock stallie still in place it doesn't pull on the stall at all, and the lope is a very comfortable as a Daily Driver. Should know the final power figures week after next. ATM its pulling 294rwkw @ 6,100 rpm but the engine is not reving to where peak power is produced with the cam.

Interestingly it runs 9.3 - 9.5 litres per 100 on the highway. Absolute truth, I have tested it many times now. Sure, around town stop start and giving it a right foot bang on the mountains or highway will shoot consumption up pretty high, but I am very impressed by the 100 - 110 kph static speed consumption given that its a cammed car pulling reasonable numbers.

Hey Brad you will be happy to know that with the mods going in the VE next week, I am pretty well done and friggen happy with the final product of the luxo project - despite the explosions and multiple breakages along the way of the past 3 years. Its all part of the trial and testing of new models and products.

Whoopse, I need to add the Bilstein Shocks to the front; 3K stallie and new cats and cats back is possibly the only remaining thing that I MAY do.

The bluey luxo will never be a Big Jim, Voodoo, Big Sean, Paul, nor NZ Shaker "power" machine, but I am finally very satisfied with the product and outcome that Hi Torque are providing me with.

Yeh darren, I think it will have some impressive number as a daily drive once we sort the ECU issues (tis nowhere near the power it should be pulling acording to the dyno and power making). Main thing I am working on atm is to have the thing capable of running at full bore for between 4-6 hrs with no respite (rpm has no correlation to throttle application) - full bore is max that the engine can produce with go pedal to the floor. I want the engine to be robust enough to achieve such a goal. That's a tough ask from me of Hi Torque though.

I got caught out at my last skidpan day where the car ran pretty much full bore for 110 minutes throughout the duration of the event with very little cool down time. Right at the last section of the shootout comp I had probs with oil surge and lifter/spring/valve noise which caused me to back off. Two wins and a third place across 3 separate events I have participated in. Engine issues won't happen next time I can assure you lol.

I see the forced induction facet as awesomme power and i am very impressed. My car/engine needs to be able to repeat max power and stress for multiple hours on the trot. This is way different to big number runners in very short bursts of full bore or maybe a 400 metre run - heat seems to be their enemy big time. Suppose thats why V8 Supercars don't use forced induction lol. Forced Induction = Bloody big numbers in a short burst though, much like NOS I suppose.

true Pete, forced induction & heat aren't a good mix and with the sort of activities you get into, there often isn't a lot of sustained high speed which creates airflow to keep even components like exhaust cool.

But a similar principal applies no matter what style of engine you build. If you want a 400m screamer, you can push the engine a lot harder and achieve higher output as the engine will only be running for a short burst. It's not sustaining high load & rpm. However if you build an engine for the circuit, you usually need to compromise some power for endurance, hence the reason usually the V8 Supercar engines are detuned on endurance events like Bathurst as compared to sprint events. And usually componentry needs to be of a higher quality in order to avoid engine failure
