While back home for my brothers wedding we did a bit of fishing, All in all we caught 60 King Fish in 9 days 55 jigging and 5 on bait.

Largest one was around 23kgs caught by ME :) I dont have any pics of it yet im hoping the guy that did take them will send to me soon.

They also did a bit of diving and caught 21 crays in 3 days for the weeding food ummmm cary fish

All this fishing was done from 2 19ft alloy boats. One was my brothers and the other is his brother in laws, which he built from scratch as he is a boat builder.

In total we only took 6 Kingis out of the 60 we caught, the rest where put back. so that was 3 for the wedding and the last 3 u see.

This was all 11kms from the boat ramp at Waihau Bay out to Cape runaway, around 20mins by boat on a rough day.

:D

Awwe I would kill to catch that many crayfish... From what I have researched since I was a kid, NZ has many phenominal fishing opportunities and options. I wish it was the same in Aus.

Holy crap, thats one seriously big lobster in the middle, and the others are bloody big too. You kiwis are spoilt and I am just plain envious. Superb I say, superb.

I rember reading a book on NZ fishing and whilst its going back a whilse, there was a photo of Snapper and this dude handling it in the wild and the fish not seeming to fret at all that this bloke had his hands around it. I'd guess around a 15 pound fish, with lots in the shallow rocks and other snapper in the background.. Beudiful :)

I would love to do a week over there just sampling the fishing. Mind boggling compared to Aus.

Chris, do you use Pots or are they caught whilst diving?
