Well, finally I can stop thinking I am paranoid about my gearbox.
Holden agreed there was something wrong with it and today the old box was ripped out and a new one put in.
All I can say is wow. What a difference. The car is so different to drive. Gearbox is so much nicer. They also fixed some other issues which I had. Was a very pleasant drive home.
The gearbox was sitting on the floor in the workshop and the HSV tech showed it to me and what was wrong with it.

!!!!
Its a sad state of Holden Build Affairs when an auto box shits itself when its like yours with no track, nor strip, nor burnout use.
Glad the new one is working for you Adam. I just shake my head that Holden can put such a soft box behind the V8 versions of the VE. Same with the Diff and LSDs - thank gawd Harrop have a Diff Solution, and that I now have it on board.
Yeh I blew the begeesus out of my A6 at around 30,000k (avtar tells the story of early days). Now surpassed 90,000k.

Mines an M6 remember Pete.
It concerns me as well. I was very open and honest about the fact that I dont do those things. I guess I can understand from the dealers point of view, and Holden, not to cover under warranty those sort of items if you did indeed enjoy their motorsport as much as you Pete. If I did indeed do frequent track work and drags then I would understand that I wasn't covered by warranty. But that is why we upgrade parts on our cars to take those things.
The problem I have now is that we picked up a distinct whine coming from the rear - suggesting diff whine.
The dealer themselves agreed that the noise was there but Holden didn't want a bar of it. Will just have to wait and see how it goes. Hopefully it wont go bang when I am driving down the highway.
