Lunch by the sea cruise 7/3 Sunday

Hi all,
I have spoke to a few people over the months in doing a cruise up along the shore line of the Sunshine coast. Great photo opportunities with outstanding scenery.

I have organised a lunch,12 sharp, fish chips a salad and drink. Cost yet to be confirmed $10- est. It is in one of the finest restaurants facing the water on Noosa Heads beach Hastings st.

I am open to date changes if required.

Will need solid numbers to book lunch.

8:30am BP Caboolture-I am thinking going out through caboolture and around the glasseshouse and in through the back door of Noosa. (Caliasrider) has a good drive for this. Pete step in whenever you can mate.

arrive at 11:15ish (park in secure parking behind Sheraton)and have a quick look along hastings street for all you shoppers.

Lunch on the beach 12 sharp.

Along the way back, cruise along the coast line and stopping at a few choice beaches for some snaps (Coolum/Sunshine/Mooloola/Kings ETC. Then down through Caloundra and back onto the bruce.

Defiately "IN" for me Paul. Been awaiting this one for a whilse now. Cooler weather approaching too, which is great.


Man going by the thread/link photos, the Bisto C location for lunch simply oozes "Class, Quality and Luxury". Friggen awesomme... I might have to set aside some time to do a day or two accomodation stay sometime across my coming holidays in order to fully apreciate the ambience.


That's a fabulously scenic route through the Mountains and Hinterland on the way up; and equally great to see that you are blending the mix of a Coastal Run happening on the way home. Well done Paul!!!!

I rekken I should have the rattles, bangs, squeeks and grinds (whatever is causing it/them?) fixed on my car by then. No time to get the thing to mechanic atm. :o :rolleyes:

From my experience, getting good photoshoots within the mountain roads area is very hard. Places where I get good backdrop photos of my car in isolation are simply not suitable for more than three or so cars - not that we can't capture the essence of the day on camera anyways :( :)

Googlemaps will show the general route as an interim. Over to you Red Rover Paul. Tis easy to sort and I will definately be on this cruise as it sincerely has a bit of everything that I enjoy.

Pete and i will come up with a route and post further plans in the next few weeks. I will also have final cost. Be aware that i will be absorbing some of this cost in an attempt to have a really strong show of BCCC car and also a cruise with a difference.

so have to put the rest on tic :(
but it will keep her happy , she gets a sunroof as well

Ideally Saturday would rock, but, I work the days most people have off...and vice versa. I work Fri/Sat/Sun so that really only leaves public holidays... I think its the same frustration you felt organising the latest LS1 Forum Cruise Adam. You can push too hard which ends in a negative or revolt response.

It would be nice if people actually got into the "club spirit" and acknowledge the humungous amount of background and organisational work required just to propose this and other events. "Commitment" is a part of CLUB life.

To my mind BCCC folk should actively participate more, rather than just "dabble" or rattle the cage of the Forum and Discussion side of things. Facebook is an option if this is your gig rather than being a BCCC participant!

Hence why I gave up my Events and Cruises admin role with BCCC way back when. "You can lead a Horse to water, but you can't make it drink"

The cut off day is Wednesday evening 8pm. I will have final cost on the Thursday, i feel it will be under $10 as i am supplying the fish and chips. They will supply beverage salad and service, however will confirm Thursday.

Meeting at BP Morayfield Bruce highway at 8am leaving 8:30am SHARP, would be perfect timing.:D

I am hoping someone more experienced with the area will lead us out "Pete" or any other takers. I do have printed maps, so TOM you may be co driver i hope you can read.....LOL

I have alterred the meet time and despatch time slightly.

BP Morayfield Bruce HWY North bound, back carpark after Mcdonalds 7:45am meet and leave at 8:15am sharp.

The cruise will still be on regardless of weather as i have had to book seats in the restaurant. So dont stress if the weathers average, we can still make a day of it and chillout with lunch.

Parking at Hastings st.
a)find what you can along the streets etc.
b)i am going secure parking at a cost of about $4-6 for 1-3 hours. This is located next to the Sheraton resort behind hasting st, just follow me in.
c)there is some parking almost across the road from this secure parking as well, no charge.

Lunch is at 11:45am sharp, i am having some fresh snapper cut tomorrrow morning for our lunches.

Leave about 12:45- 1pm.

Cruise will be coastal on the way back, in which i am ok to lead, unless someone else would like the opp to do so.

I didn't bother detailing my car. Rain and road sludge, but its always dry on the inside of the car, hence really happy to run in the rain at any time... ;)

I didn't bother detailing my car. Rain and road sludge, but its always dry on the inside of the car, hence really happy to run in the rain at any time... ;)

Thanks Pete, that mean a lot, this is to some expense to myself, and the effort of doing this somewhat. Just not time and financial costings but heart and emotion as you want people to get together and have a great cruise and be happy and safe, and you feel responsible.

well well what can i say AWSOME ended up being about a 400km round trip from the bp's on the highway.
we encountered everything today rain, sun, beach, mud/land slide,s floods u name it we seen it but was awsome a HUGE thanks to paul and bristro c for a awsome lunch thank you very much.
all in all was a awsome day loved it hope to do something like that again soon

The food, i cant discribe how good it was.... Never and i mean never, had a feed of fish and chips that good before.... Especially for FREE...

Awesomme day. Just shows that wet weather days can be fun and exciting. What a mix of diverse runnings, roads and surprises - I just loverd it and so many funny ocasions.

Yeh the Sleeper is back to its previous handling status which assists enormously with balance and running the curves wet or dry... Very rigid chasis setup atm which helps too. Just need two new tyres next pay day and all will be good.
