Well what can this scribe say that pictures cant tell???Another fine example f the generals finest machinery on our roads.
Luke's Gen3VR has been a work in progress for quite some time now. Starting out with a vr and a ls1 out of a senator, he has created a stunning work of art. Upon purchasing the vr luke started the whole project again, investing a hell of alot of man hours and money into this beast.
Exterior wise you cannot miss the blinding metallic green paint that pictures dont do justice. No bodykit here folks, just the smooth flowing lines of a timeless shape, wrapped in that mesmorising colour. Bringing the weapon down closer to the terrafirma, it has been dumped in the weeds over a set of dead sexy 18" Bonspeed rims, which just complement the whole vehicle.
Not content on just having a car that looks good on the outside, attention was turned to the inside with the seats retrimmed in green also, and an audio visual setup that will keep anyone happy, comprising of three tvs, two crossfire subs and two crossfire amps all running from the headunit.
But that stereo has to work hard to try and dull the sound of this beast. Bringing that desirable v8 note to the ls1 engine is somehting that some do and fail, and others hit it right on the nose. This is definalty one nose breaker - comprising a full custom gonzo exhaust system. And now to what makes that rumble - the heart of this beast , an LS1 sourced from a wrecked senator. After the initial conversion was completed , the motor was left stock, albeit with changing the factory valve springs to much stronger aftermarket ones. Backed by the venerable T5 5 speed manual, this combo produced an absolutly stout 330rwhp and ran a 12.5 @ 108mph. This is more than enough mumbo for any man..but the bug had only just bitten. After destroying no less than 4 t5 gearboxes, luke decided to beef up the driveline and what now resides behind the motor is a fully manualised t400 auto with 4000rpm stally. A few engine mods were thrown in to the mix too, including port and polished heads, forged pistons, custom ground cam and a 150hp shot of nos...all managed by motec m800 ecu...to result in 600plus ponies at the treads...absolutley ballistic....:O:
Ill wrap this up as this writer could bable all night about this car so heres some pics to enjoy, congrats luke on winning COTM and your feature in Street commodores..
